Anthony Hamilton talking about Bottas being alongside his son in 2017.

"Anybody who goes up against Lewis needs to have planned their career correctly because it could be a career-ending move when you go up against Lewis," Hamilton Snr told Sky Sports News HQ.

As modest as ever.

The best Merc can do is get behind LH 100% then bin him in 2018.

I'm a Lewis fan. He needs one more title then off to a new challenge.

If he can get titles with three different teams he's the best IMO.
I would not be so quick to write off Bottas.

Discounting driving ability for a moment, if Hamilton has spent the winter building and integrating his own dream team of staff for his side of the garage as you would expect (based on his experience with the team over the past four years), Bottas could find himself subject to the double whammy of being the newcomer and enjoying the butt end of the reliability as Hamilton did last year.

Hamilton will spend the winter break partying, chilling out and doing his fitness program. The team personnel will do their thing.

Lewis pre-season testing a new wardrobe.

Slight elevation of his left arm and the teapot look would have been perfected. biggrin

Alonso, a winner of 32 grand prix and one of the biggest stars in F1, also gave a withering response to his old rival Lewis Hamilton's recent observation that he regretted the amount of data-sharing in F1 because he felt it allowed his team-mates to learn from him.

Alonso said: "If he was watching more data from Rosberg last year, maybe he would have won the championship."

Schuey had something else?

Yes. He did. His manager was banned subsequently.
Willi Weber was banned? I don't remember that?

His former Team Principal then, not manager. And he has banned for the Piquet incident, nothing to do with Schumacher at the time.
Maybe so, however it does highlight his questionable ethics when it comes to following the rules which can definitely be applied to the MS era at Benneton

And can also be applied to many other teams at many other times.

Don`t think that Schuey carrying a concrete helmet to the driver scales was a new idea. Mr Ecclestone said that Brabham won its championships by being the best at circumventing the rules. Also Ken Tyrrell had his team disqualified for the whole season following the disposable ballast scam. There is no gentlemanly conduct where millions of dollars are at stake.
Tyrrell's DQ was pure politics used to remove the only N/A team from vetoing the rules the Turbo teams wanted implemented.

I suspect that had Senna not been tragically lost and Jaques Villenueve not moved to an un-competitive car, both would've taken a title or two more from MSC in his early years.
Senna yes, JV not a chance.

JV only just beat MS in a vastly better car, once Ferrari were on song JV would have been nowhere vs MS no matter what car he was driving including the other Ferrari.

Quite. JV (aka "rent a mouth" these days according to one commentator) was a journeyman. In my mind he was much like Hill. Good driver. Solid. Right place, right time to secure a deserved WDC, but no more.
I actually think Damon Hill was a better driver than many gave him credit for and he did have some epic races against MS, but over a season there was only ever going to be one winner if MS had anything close to reasonable machinery under him.

What I liked about MS was he was the perfect F1 driver - talented, super fit and super committed - the three traits that combined made him so much better than the rest. In my opinion Lewis has the same talent and the same fitness, but he doesn't eat, sleep and breath F1 like MS did... probably a good job as otherwise he'd win even more often. I do think he is an immense talent though and whether you like his off track persona or not you can't hep but marvel at his skill behind the wheel.

Here's how I see it. Lewis Hamilton's job consists of two things.

First and foremost he is a racing driver. It's what he does ON the track that matters above all else. Formula One should be a sport that puts the best racing drivers in the world against one another to see who is best behind the wheel, whether a driver pays attention during a press conference or not should not come into the equation at all.

His secondary role is as a celebrity. By drawing media attention and getting people interested in F1, he is helping the sport grow. There is no doubt that Lewis Hamilton's celebrity status OFF the track has massively helped the popularity of F1, and it's this type of controversial behaviour that draws people in. It may be seen as disrespectful or uncouth by some, but it appeals to the next generation of F1 fans and keeps the sport alive.

So I say let Lewis be Lewis.

Regarding your last paragraph, are you aware of last year's UK viewing figures? Significantly down on last year and lowest since 2006. Globally down by 1/3 since 2008.

Some effect Lewis is having............

Interview with Montoya regarding the Schumacher's and current leading drivers including Lewis.

Moderns drivers are not mentally strong.

Pretty spot on.

I really am looking forward to the Lewis V Bottas battle.

Like all Finnish Motorsport drivers in the past whether in F1 or Rallying they all have this extremely calm mentality and persona which really is something extremely powerful when it comes to the pressures of Motorsport.

I am positive Bottas is going to be much better than many of us think he will be.

Add this to his mentality then if he is as fast as Lewis "which we obviously need to find out" I feel he will be a bigger nightmare to Lewis than Nico.

Rosberg was inclined to lose it in the heat of battle and make some poor decisions yet Bottas IMO will be less likely to do so.

Whatever happens between the two Mercedes drivers I just hope Ferrari and Red Bull can get in the mix.

F1 needs to start having close racing with different teams.

Lewis was impressive yesterday.

Perhaps receiving the penalty added to his frustrations but he was very impressive.

I agree.

He has very little competition from his teammate at this moment in time and the Mercedes garage will already be looking to support Lewis fully.

Surely he will be delighted to have this situation compared to last year when his inner demons played tricks in his head.

If anyone wants to beat Lewis all they need to do is get into his head. Then he struggles as shown against Rosberg at certain events during their time together.
