Wonder if Lewis will get his old crew back now!!
There was a question to Lewis in the pre-race interviews about the crew. He basically said you will have to wait until i release a book in 10 years for the full story...I wonder if he is going to say things happened on purpose by rosbergs old crew....Dr Z said:
Ok, you're clearly quite passionate about it. I think it comes down to what we find likeable in a sports person. There's no shortage of quick guys in this sport, so I find it a bit funny for some Lewis fans to look down on non-fans for disliking Lewis because darn it, he's so quick on track and he's a [dreaded word]racer and everyone must like a racer who's quick...erm, what about the rest!
Don't get me wrong, Rosberg has had some dodgy moments, but he's been consistent with what he's said out of the car and what he did in the car. I respect that more. Lewis saying in the press pre-race that it's not his style to back up Nico, and then proceed to do it in the race, I find strange.
It's all quite subjective, so I'm hesitant to get drawn into these discussions. Of the racing incidents you cite, I felt Austria was the most dodgy but then he did it against Verstappen once too, so it is hard to argue that it was a pre-meditated move against Lewis. Both drivers are a bit enigmatic for me...it's one of the reasons I find their rivalry/character traits interesting.
I agree with most of what you say. My passion is due to the incredible double standards. It's fine to not like Lewis or any of them, but when that dislike begins to cloud people's judgment to the point they see Sunday's tactics as some heinous crime against the sport and the team which requires immediate dismissal - after some of the stunts Nico has pulled, it leaves me utterly bewildered at the lack of balance people have. And to be clear, I wouldn't advocate sacking Nico for his impacts with Lewis, a stern word perhaps, but nothing more.Don't get me wrong, Rosberg has had some dodgy moments, but he's been consistent with what he's said out of the car and what he did in the car. I'll add that I'm really disappointed Nico has announced his retirement, I hoped he was going to kick on and be at his very best next year.

Why do people post nonsense like this. Seriously, in what scenario is that ever going to happen?!
Well, seats have suddenly become vacant before and we've seen some surprises before - Andretti suddenly in a Ferrari int the eighties and Schumacher suddenly in a Benetton in the nineties spring to my feeble mind and I'm sure there's been more than that. However it's extremely simple imo, all it takes is for the right people to want it to happen. If they don't want it then it won't happen, but if they do then there's nothing whatsoever to stop it.
But - F1 needs to be careful. Despite the intensity of the last 3 championships, F1 has still attracted a lot of negativity and has seen drops in viewing figures. If Merc dominate again next year, do we want to see Hamilton cruising to wins or do we relish the thought of Hamilton going head-to-head with another top driver?
Red Bull have got a pair of pretty evenly matched drivers and the Ferrari pair haven't been too far apart, so even if they have cars that can match the Merc next year it will be harder to beat one dominant driver in a good car.
Yes, there are new rules next year (which favours the best-resourced teams), yes Red Bull were not too far away at the end of this year, yes Wehrlein (or whoever) might do a Hamilton on Hamilton (or be another Heikki Kovalainen), yes Renault are promising yet another great engine, yes things can change, but imo there is little evidence to say things will change much.
If F1 becomes a far bigger bore then the people who let that happen will be spending their billions on ever dwindling returns. It is up to them but I think there's more to lose than gain.

I, too, thought that his WDC would provide him with more confidence and make him a better driver, able to eradicate some of the more rash things he has been prone to do. Having said that I did not believe he could retain the crown and, IMHO, he also realises that and that he has required some good fortune this year to take the title. Obviously not 'driven' in the Lauda, Senna, Schumacher, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton mould.Anyhow, he says he has achieved his life's ambition and its time to move on. What on earth do you do when you have achieved your overriding ambition by the age of 31?

he's another driver I will support and defend.
Can I suggest you take a minute to think about why you feel the need to do this, why not just post more interesting stuff like this...LDN said:
