Sorry Rosberg was not a top driver. He was fast but the car was the main reason.

Alonso tied Lewis at the end of the 2007 Championship. McLaren were fully behind their young prodigy come mid season after Alonso and Ron's relationship blew up.

Firstly they are unconfirmed reports

Secondly how didn't he get his own way?

Come on. Unconfirmed reports yet he states it was in the past instead of just saying no. Mercedes had Wehrlein on standby.

Who states they will quit due to the team not stating what he wants.

Rosberg has been underrated a long time... he's not in the upper echelon, that's for sure... but never the less, underrated. He's been fast since his day one in F1; if you look back, you'll see many commented on it.

I remember what happened in 2007, thanks - but for the record; in case you missed it; Alonso tied on points with Lewis but finished behind him on count back. So Hamilton beat Alonso in his very first season. The results don't lie. Conspiracy theory or not; Alonso was beaten. And so, that partnership; we have already seen... I'd much much rather see a new one.

Firstly unconfirmed reports are just that, innocent until proven guilty in this country...until there are facts they are just rumours. IF the reports are true then all Hamilton asked for was the team to acknowledge that It was nicos fault.....not an unreasonable request from a driver who thinks he's in the right....and in any case we don't know in what context the conversation was...it could have been heated, both drivers blaming each other, and nico asking for Mercedes to blame Hamilton, at which point Hamilton threatens to quit.....

As usual we aren't getting the full picture in complete context

And whether it happened or not, why would they sack Hamilton for threatening to quit?

There's supposed to be more to it all anyway... which I, you / none of us - really know about. So it's a pointless debate really!

But yet Lewis fanboys are convinced Merc favored Nico to the point of sabotage... but mention that Lewis was Rons golden child and favored him over Alonso its pushed aside....

Same way they forget Lewis won 2008 WDC due to Massa having an engine failure in Hungry so Massa should of been WDC 2008...(if you follow Lewis fanboys logic of Nico only winning due to Lewis blowing up engine at Malaysia)...

You wait till Lewis is no longer in the best car..i cant wait to see you guys then...

All conspiracy theories aside... Hamilton beat Alonso in his rookie season. An astonishing performance that even those who knew of Hamilton's talent, were surprised by; including Alonso. Hamilton then won the WDC in his second season. An amazing achievement - in what wasn't a dominant car. And he lost it this year to Nico. It's that simple. I for one ignore conspiracies altogether; these teams don't build these cars to then sabotage one driver.

Because maybe there is some truth to it....I'm not denying things didn't happen, I've just said they were unconfirmed and no facts/ context has been brought out.

Plus let's face it the guy can't do right. Say no then if something comes out in the future he's a liar, say yes then a big media storm explodes along with his team being pissed off.

The bigger question should be is why are private conversations being leaked out of Mercedes....pistonheads SLAMMED Hamilton in spa a couple of years back for telling the world that rosberg hit him on purpose....now stories about Hamilton are being leaked out and you're all lapping it up rather than slamming who ever leaked the story

Indeedy.....or forgetting to turn right....

...come to think about it nico did have a few steering problems this year...turning hard right on a straight road to run Hamilton off...and then not turning right around a corner...to ummm run Hamilton off the road

...maybe the mechanical problems weren't all Lewis's this year, nico had a few shearing racks go wrong

Bingo. And for me, looking back at Rosberg's career; he's never been slow. His showing against the, supposed, second coming that was Schuey's return was proof of that. He outperformed Schuey week in, week out. I remember the F1 bods proclaiming that Schuey would return and show this generation how it's really done... and then proceeded to get absolutely mullered by his teammate, Rosberg.
