I thought Vettel was best very unlucky with the car. Just saying.

entirely possible...max was brilliant too.

I suggest people go back and read my post. I merely said that rosberg wasn't the best driver this year but it doesn't matter a champion is a champion and he deserved it....

....then people blast me for it...when theres ZERO wrong with my statment

Fact is, even the team bosses didn't think Rosbeg was the best driver this year... they didn't even think he was second best! ...but it's not worth going over. It really isn't. Rosberg is gone; good luck to him. Onwards and upwards.

indeed which is exactly what I said in my first post...but people decided to concentrate on that part and blow up pistonheads again...

You are passing your opinion off as fact. Even with your apparent 3 engineering degrees you should see that.

Rosberg is WDC therefore by the rules of the sport he was the best driver over the season, hence he won it.

You could quite easily argue that Hamilton hasn't been the best driver in either of his two Mercedes title years.

But I'm sure you and chevy37 will argue the opposite.

... it seems odd that you don't get it. The team bosses would disagree with what you've just said. Perhaps you should write them all and say that their opinion is unfair because Roseberg won ... so he MUST be the best driver. They'd think you a little slow, I reckon. Its plain to see that the best driver doesn't always win the WDC. Having said that, Rosberg was always very fast and, I think, underestimated. Nobody is saying he didn't deserve the title... but your statement is incorrect; we have the team bosses to back our POV... why would they even ask the paddock, each year, if the standings were seen as the only way of determining driver status. It's a team sport; remember that. There's more to it than just the drivers.

But the team bosses said he was.... so you couldn't argue that really. Rosberg wins the title and they don't even rank him second! I'm afraid your pissing into the wind here. You either, genuinely, don't get it - or you're pretending not to.

no.....not passing own opinions as fact. who won the most races, who had the most pole positions, and who only finished 5 points behind after losing around 70 points to mechanical issues.

as ive said before, nico won the championship and deserved it....its a team effort in a mechanical sport, but he wasn't the best driver

And you're off again, too.

Stop crying in your Lewis pillow and admit that Rosberg did the best, most consistent job last season.

For readers over eight years of age (my driver's better than yours !No he isn't - liar, liar etc etc ) , an interesting review in Motor Sport this month . Mark Hughes - who knows his stuff- puts Ricciardo as best . Me ? Couldn't care less really- all I really crave are good races with different winners - and a bit less tribalism would be nice too. They're all heroes to me .

nope I wouldn't argue at all.....nowhere have I stated that Hamilton has been the best driver...I actually think nico was the best qualifier over the past couple of years.....

I'll try and simplify this for those at the back of the class.

2014... Hamilton WDC. Team bosses vote best driver as: Hamilton.
2015... Hamilton WDC. Team bosses vote best driver as: Hamilton.
2016... Rosberg WDC. Team bosses vote best driver as: Hamilton.

AHHHHHH and there we have it...nico did the best, most consistant job...that doesn't mean hes the best driver....as per my statement

nico won because he did a consistant job and his side of the garage did the best job.....that doesn't make nico the best driver

Not only do I disagree. Those in the know do too... the team principals. See my post above. You'll get there in the end sweetheart. It's a long and winding road wink

Nothing to get over. I think you need to get over the fact that, despite winning the WDC, those who matter, didn't consider Rosberg 'the best' driver. Why are you so upset about it? Really. Honestly?

what I really don't get is why weve spent the last 2 pages arguing because a bunch of hammy haters jumped on the fact that I said nico wasn't the best driver BUT DESERVED TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.......really baffles me sometimes that they accuse fanboys (not that I am one) of being deluded and starting arguments, and are quite happy to start arguments themselves, even when im complimenting Nico and saying people should leave him be...

.....cant win with some people...just think they like causing arguments on the internet....but hey I suppose they take snipits from interviews lewis does and takes them completely out of context so I shouldn't be surprised that they do it with other forum members

Even better is when you spell it out... that the paddock disagrees with their assertion also; but they ignore it and just keep on the same line. It's called delusion. But hey ho!
