Yeah I think they changed the rules a bit this year to make it less of an issue.

Anyway this is rather off-topic. smile

As I said in the other thread - I now get Hamilton's appeal if you typify his fan-base.
lol you're so full of st....all you can do is come on here, slate Hamilton and be utterly blind to any other drivers deficiencies, then when backed into a corner because you're on the losing end of an argument, just label everyone who sticks up for Lewis as a fanboy and attack their persona...you my friend are what is known as a troll....you're rather like a trump supporter, rather dim whitted, completely blind to any truths and facts....go back to the cesspit whence you came and leave pistonheads to those who actually have a slightly more rounded view....

...oh and before you attack me again, call me a fanboy, liberal or what ever...I'm a rosberg fan too, and max, button, Webber and Ricardo...that's because I can see talent and enjoy it for what it is rather than have a blinkered view because of a drivers personality

You have a novel approach to the spelling of boy in fanboy, is this deliberate?

What the flying fk are you talking about? Does the Hamilton disease of projecting faults on to everyone else spread to his fans as well?

Urban dictionary - fanboi

And there was me almost believing the hype that Hamilton was so street and down with his fans.

Seems his alleged 'haters' know his image better than his fans do.

Andddd there we go, you're quite happy at showing up hamiltons fault without realising other drivers have the same faults...

But thanks for proving my point...you're on the defensive again slagging off his fans as I said you would...

...go on...go and crawl back into that little hole again....byeeeeeeee

If the cap fits.

It is all making sense though. Manchild idol figure appealing to manchildren.

Anyway, my point that you singularly failed to understand was that Hamilton might not take to the idea of a new team-mate at Mercedes and decide to move on.

What argument? Sorry, you've lost me.

Try articulating one instead of making it up in your head.

He's young, he's quick, he's available, he's familiar with the team and the car, he's cheap and he's German. There are plenty of reasons why Wehrlein will be the favourite to replace Rosberg.

We would all love to see Alonso go head to head with Hamilton again, and we would love even more to see Vettel get his arse kicked all over the track by Lewis, but I don't think either will happen.

Jorge Lorenzo, or maybe that Italian geezer that couldn't bear to be beaten by No. 93 (get over it, or get better) laugh

No.46 now comes across as somewhat "arrogant" - getting a bit Schumacher, but he was a long way short of winning this year! laugh

For me I'm thinking Alonso or Vettel.
1. Mercedes will want constructors
2. New aero based rules will favour an ever increasing Red Bull threat
3. Car will need to be developed
4. Need someone experienced
5. Wehrlein needs a bit more experience

Alonso is going to have least water tight contract, at a guess, McLaren desperate to do anything to keep him

Vettel isn't happy at Ferrari but imagine his contract will be very good, and with no one good and experienced lined up to replace he does hold a card, but German driver for German team.

All I'm going on is Merc will want car development like they did with schuey, and someone with a bit of experience who can potentially drive a car that could be st, but drive pants off it.

Hamilton can't really develop a car in my eyes, after Alonso left McLaren and it was Lewis left the car quickly dropped off over a few years before Honda arrived, goes to Merc which schuey developed and now after 3 years the pack is catching them up quickly.

Alonso put a st Renault in decent places after McLaren
Put a st Ferrari into runner up place for 2/3 years
McLaren have gone from near dead last to 6th this year, mostly chassis development as the engine is still underpowered.

I just can't see young driver, Alonso and Hamilton till 2019 and both step out of F1 then

I think the myth of drivers developing the cars these days is just that. A myth.

The computer and the test driver doing thousands of hours in the sim develop the cars, all the drivers do is tweak the set up to suit themselves at each circuit.
