Joe Saward thinks it will probably go to Bottas (or Sainz/Grosjean)

Logically, Bottas is the best choice. There's no doubt. But we will see...

So who would go to replace him at Williams?

I would love to see Kvyat going to Mercedes and beating Red Bull.

That went through my mind too, although wasn't he one of only two drivers rumoured not to have been in touch with Toto?

I'm in two minds about this.

It's FOM that control the broadcast feed. I suspect all the drivers whinge, it's just a bit selective about what they broadcast!

Won't happen.

In what way will 'anybody but Alonso' be 'st for the sport'?

WOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH slow down there people.....

...a couple of weeks ago everyone was saying that ANYONE could win in the merc....now all of a sudden Mercedes new rookie cant hack it.....

a) give him the chance to prove himself
b) why have people changed their minds all of a sudden....now only a former champion can beat Hamilton?!

a) Very good drivers with several years experience are languishing in midfield cars- give them the chance first.

b) I don't believe that. I don't want Mercedes to adopt a 1 & 2 driver line-up, I just suspect they will. It'll be interesting to see how Lewis' new team mate will compare, I'd suspect that if the drivers are on equal standing it won't all go Lewis' way, particularly if he has 'off' days like he has had this season.

a) if that's the case why were max/kvyat promototed....Mercedes have a development programme, they may as well use it.

b) whats to say Alonso isn't past his best? I doubt Mercedes would employ a 1/2 driver line up anyway....im sure lewis is good enough to beat pascal on merit.

my point is that certain people have been calling Lewis a mediocre driver In a great car....well now this is the time to prove it. put a young rookie in out of a manor and see how he does.....

Hopefully won't happen.

Maybe Button fans will be hoping it will happen as I presume, if FA did bail out to Merc....(for a big fee) McHonda wouldn't want two rookie's as drivers next season....and they'd get JB back to do another year?

I would laugh though if Fred did jump to Merc and their car was pants next year laugh
