I met Damon once. I was testing at Silverstone, I'm a club motor racer, and was sharing a garage with Damon's son who was testing for, I think, formula Renault. I'd killed an oil cooler (and consequently the engine as I found later) and was grovelling about in a pool of oil when Damon wandered over to see what my car was and what was up.
