Apart from Portugal 1986 when they were yellow & white.

Only Keke Rosberg's car was yellow and white (to represent Marlboro Lights). Prost's remained red and white.

Don't give a fig what colour it is,

Just in its performance.

They wil probably start the year badly again, talk about some new tech/design/engine that they just 'have to get working' then go down hill from there.

He's hardly going to call it a barge before testing starts...

I remember when McLaren first went testing with the Honda power train, and Ron Dennis kept calling it a "peach of an engine" as it yet again shat out its innards on the pit lane exit.

mclaren have this habit of talking themselves up all the time, and then not delivering, whilst every other team in the pit lane seems to stay fairly quiet,

There is a difference between talking yourself up, and spouting utter nonsense.

It's hope more than expectation, but Honda and Renault are both coming to the party with brand new Power Units.

Fingers crossed for a closer match

If only they would stay quiet, like those shy and retiring Italians in the red cars....

I know the season is on the way when Ferrari post times that are better than any other teams and they say the new car is the best they've ever built.

If that happens I don't think we'll see Honda involved in 2019

And that would be a real shame.

Hopefully they will invest in development this year now the rules allow it.

More de-Ronning of McLaren, the new car won't be an MP4, its the MCL32.

Sad, crass, but totally predictable. They'll be tossing out Bruce's Austin 7 next. Heritage clearly counts for nothing there any more.

Nothing wrong with that, it's McLaren so it has a MCL tag, the P4 in MP4 stood for Project Four which was the Ron Dennis F2/F3/Procar team he ran before buying McLaren. Before Ron Dennis they were just M for McLaren. You could say Ron had no sense of heritage when he added the P4 in 1981.

I expect people said that when the name MP4 was introduced. You don't have to reach for the outrage button over everthing

So why not return to M for McLaren? If they were going to go totally new they might as well have called it the ZB-01.

That was my point, but some don't seem to be able to exert their brains to the extent to understand that. Or maybe I have to spell it out a little more for those people not blessed with intellect?

Maybe you should have made your point clearly instead of relying on others' ESP?

Lets hope in the future they have a car that could tempt Hamilton back.

Then it could be MCL Hammer Time.

MCL is like the road car model designations?

ZB-01 sounds like a designation for a Zil or something.
