Hi has anyone have spare wheel centres for 14" or 15" wheels. When I bought the they were missing & the dash lights are very dim is there a dimmer switch fitted on a 350i 1984 . My car came with 2 14" & 2 15" wheels & I have one centre for the 15" wheels.

Yeah the dash lights are on a dimmer, usually on that model it's a continuous rotary knob. On later cars it's a 3-step rotary knob.

Wheel centres are quite rare and expensive - search for various threads here - some people have taken to making them out of yoghurt pots painted silver!

Do the 14 and 15 inch wheels have different sized caps?

True, and I have an odd 15" lettuce wheel with a bigger diameter cap than the rest...

Strange...I replied to this post earlier and it had been removed??....

If you mean the switches are dim then there is a optic-fibre unit that is behind the centre console and twists open...You can upgrade the bulb to an LED disc I believe, I tried finding a small LED plug in the same size but didn't find much.

Also check to make sure the gauge bulbs haven't slipped out of their housings...Its a right PITA to get them back in....Mine has come out the tacho and when its dark you cannot see squat...Although the footwell is lit up nicely...smile

I do find some very bright green LEDS that were a straight swap for the old filament bulbs. They've made a big difference at night in that I can actually see the speedo and tachograph now. I got them from fleabay.

Dimmer on both of mine is mounted on the plastic shroud around the steering wheel on the right hand side. its a small round knob, a bit like one of the irritating buggers I work with.

Try these at , Better car lighting. I bought some for my scimitar when I owned it and they were really helpful , also the led's were great and come in several colors.
