This dealer? See review below.

Ms 16v is looking for a red MINI for when she passes her test, hopefully next month.
She found a nice looking one at a good price, but I found 3 reviews for the dealer, 2 good and 1 crap.

I said I wouldn't touch them, it's not worth the risk. Cue argument and her steaming off with the hump. Am I being paranoid?

"****** Cars sold my elderly parents a WRITTEN OFF, and DANGEROUS car. The complete passenger side had been filled ad sprayed over. They refused to refund them ANY money. Consequently, i SUED them, and i won. I was given every single penny of my money back by the credit card company, as they had the ordascity to move location and to get away from paying their court fine. Conseqnently, the bank had to recoup the money from Craven Cars. This company is TERRIBLE. Please guys, do NOT trust them with a single penny of your money."

All that jazz

I don't know who comes off worse from that review, the dealer or the illiterate author.

The question is, why is the price good?

Always judge a car based on its merits - hpi check yourself, and either go over it with a fine toothed comb or get an AA type check. Also MOT History can be very telling....

Yep, always do a HPI type check, even on my £1250 RAV4.
Didn't think about looking at the MOT history as not going to see it.

Oh, £4500 for a 2010 Cooper, full history, 74,000 miles.

If it's the car I think it is then it has done 74k? check the MOT and that was the mileage in August when it was done. It's either being doing not a lot for 5 months or something doesn't add up. Could be something, could be nothing, but either way a question needs to be asked.

It was said already but Mini's are pretty common, so if in doubt try elsewhere smile.

Not a place I'd buy from unless you purchase it based on it being a private sale.

Great detective work from PH as usual. Yep, doesn't look like somewhere I'd like to buy a car from.

Just found another, 2008 £5000 but just up the road. Might go and see it tomorrow. Will see what Ms 16v thinks.

Well, today I asked if she wanted to go see that car. She said she didn't think I liked it, so still wanted to go see that one at the dealer with the dodgy review.

So we went to see the Cooper near us, but she didn't want to as it had stripes. I told her they come off and the dealer agreed to do this, so we left a deposit and picking it up next week.

I didn't like that it had 5 owners, but full dealer history, 47k and drove well. RFT but only 16s, so not too bad.

Thanks for your opinions, especially as you agreed with me biggrin
