Hi All, I'm interested in doing a few rounds of the mag 7's this year however just wanted to ask on here a couple of questions for those that have raced in class 1 before.

I have a caterham grads super (1.6k, standard sealed engine, open diff, 605kg, fly screen and AO48's) so class one.

1. Will a full tank last the 40 mins?
2. Will there be anyone to race against or is everyone in 158bhp, LSD, sidetrack etc spec cars?
3. Overall what are peoples experience of the races, good and bad

Thanks in advance

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm biased but happy to help!

1. Yes, it will last the 40 minutes.
2. The higher power cars (153 to 185bhp) have moved from group 1 to 2 for this season. We have seen a number of new registrations already (including from Sigma and K series cars), on top of many regulars who have signed up. Their is a large spread of power in the series from 125 to 300+bhp, but driving standards are high with a good amount of courtesy shown by competitors in all classes.
3. I will leave it to others to comment, maybe ask the same question on the Magnificent Sevens Facebook group too.

Feel free to get in touch with me directly, best regards, David (Director, CSCC)

Dave - There is a small typo there that might confuse cseven ............ the 153 to 185 bhp cars have been moved FROM group 1 INTO Group 2 for this year.

Cseven - I have raced in Group 1 of the Mag 7's for a few years and can highly recommend both the CSCC as a club and the Mag 7's as a race series. Every meeting that I have been to has been extremely well organised and professionally run whilst at the same time maintaining the most important factors of safety and FUN.
I think that the 30 minute qualifying and 40 minute races represent good value for money and the pit-stop in the middle means that it mixes the field up approximately half way through the race to add to the interest and challenge.
In the main, driving standards have been excellent as is the atmosphere in the paddock.

Whether it is a separate grid / race for Group 1 and 2 or a combined grid of both you are sure to have people to race against for the vast majority of the 40 mins as the grids tend to be full or close to capacity.

If entered for a Mag 7's race then you also get the opportunity to race in the Open Series (a Sports / Saloon challenge type race) for a reduced entry fee.

I will be racing with the Mag 7's again this year for as many meetings as funds allow,(but will now be in Group 2 due to the rule changes).

Speak to Dave as I think you can try out one race meeting without having to join the club.

Cheers
Steve

Worth pointing out the timings for all races are here:

Should help work out where you would come based on last years classes.

CSCC great club and I am doing a full season with them this year.

I raced with the CSCC Mag 7's for a race last year at Donnington, so I'm not experienced with the club, but from my limited experience, I would say that it appears to be a very well run club. The paddock atmosphere is friendly and the driving standards are good as well.

I'm told by the CSCC that Groups 1 and 2 will not be separated for the races this year so we will all be racing together.

I was in group 1 last year and like Steve, will be moved into Group 2 for this year. I have a Westie with 180 bhp.

and here for another westie racing in the series (Mowbray/Mowbray):

Hello Dave - are there many registered for Group E this year?
