It's not exactly taking my breath away.

I thought that the peckers would be history.

Looks like an s-duct.

I thought rear wing would be wider?

Overall, looks a bit meh- too conservative again from Williams?

I notice their F1 engine soundtrack sounds nothing like a modern F1 engine.

Rear wing looks tiny.

It's no beauty that's for sure but I hope it turns out to be competitive this year.

I think it looks quite good personally!

Looks quite aggressive

Only a basic render at the moment, I'd expect more bits to be bolted on come the final test.

I don’t think one single design engineer in the history of Grand Prix or F1 racing ever had the requirement “beautiful” in his brief. The term beautiful with racing cars is only a subjective rating, usually stamped-on long after a car has become too slow to be competitive. In other words: in 20 years from now, we will find the 2017 cars fantastic and old-skool.

But I agree with others: not a real ground breaking design, I would have hoped for a more exciting car. The Martini livery has much more potential to add to the excitement too.

I certainly don't look at the 1997 cars as being "beautiful".

It's not an age thing at all - it's an aesthetic thing. For me, cars from lots of eras (from the 1920s right trough to the early 1990s) have been beautiful on and off but since the mid to late 90s aero and safety requirements have come to dominate and have resulted in fairly ugly machines.

The old adage used to be "if it looks fast; it probably is".

WRC have just changed their rules and the cars look stonking (IMHO). They definitely don't have a pecker up-front.

Disappointed that it still has the stubby little thumb nose, kind of hoped that would disappear with the new regs.

Can't say I'm stunned by the overall design, but as mentioned it is only an early rendering.

Certainly better than the last few years' look.

I think it is more that we have been told that the cars are going to look exciting, brutal, aggressive and meaner, not the same as last year just with bigger tyres and a slightly different rear wing.

I think the trouble is, unless you legislate to actively introduce winglets etc etc

That is the universally acknowledged 'fastest shape'
