Nah, would be blatantly evident in the data.

His problem was the EBD got removed, the Red Bull lost its party trick and he struggled to adapt, which led to Daniel getting the upper hand, Seb lost confidence and got in to a vicious circle. I don't believe for a moment he went in to that season with a plan to sabotage his own season in mind.

I think he's probably matured a bit, had some hard times and would be more capable in that situation now, but at the time he struggled with it.
