Maybe the lines on the Mercedes are why Lewis thinks it looks like a boat? Water splashing along the side hehe .

Cars need to be about 4 ft shorter in my opinion. They are so long now!

The Merc teaser shots suggest a narrower nose and no additional 'dong'.

Why do some people keep coming back to the f1 forum to tell us it's crap and they're not interested?

You are clearly interested. That's why you went out of your geeky way to look at the car launches, instead of waiting for Melbourne like normal people do. Pretending you're not interested to interested people doesn't make you some sort of sporting fonz, it makes you boring as fk.

To;Dr? Cheer up or gtfo.
It's an open public forum where people can quite rightly voice their opinions on the current state of F1.

Didn't realise this section was such a breeding ground for angry little bigots...

The Mercedes teaser shot of the nose looks little different to 2016.

Maybe its because they have a deep rooted love for the sport but are frustrated by the direction it has been taken over the last few years. Its not easy to simply walk away and forget about F1 if you've spent most of your life following it passionately.

Some of us live in hope that things will change for the better and why shouldn't they keep a keen eye on the 2017 car launches, especially when the cars are promised to look substantially different?

Sounds like a idea for a photoshop thread then

The VJM10 seems to be modelled on Ron Jeremy by the looks of it...

With wider cars and wider tyres who will be the first to hit the door frame leaving the garage or wiping out a photographer standing too close when it does?

With no Maldonado it's a clear level playing field of choice.

I just can't get over how big and unwieldy they look.

The cars were already far, far too long and thin, I thought the new regulations would eliminate some of the narrowness from the look but instead they just look like giant messes.

Understandable for packaging reasons with the power units and hybrid systems but still.

Adding the terrible noses and the awful fins to the mess and this year is gonna be extremely ugly. Not quite as ugly as 2009 but still, horrible.

People bang on and on about the 2007/8 cars being awful to look at because of the aero packages but at least they were somewhat in proportion and had some curves. These cars are just as bad aero-wise but don't have the neatness to the proportions or the curves of the 2008 cars.
Mosley narrowed the track of the cars '95, stupid decision imho, I think the move back to the wider rear tyres is reluctant, but the current atmosphere means things need sexing up.

Not a good look, very angular and straight edged and that front nose cone is not a good one either!

I wish they'd tweaked the rules so that was not the best solution!
