So what? So what if i said McLaren would win the WCC, I'm not Gary Anderson so why give such a crap about it? I don't really care, fact is Stroll will be beating people in that Williams and one of them will be Alonso. So is Stroll a wunderkind? Is Alonso overrated? Or is F1 all about the car?

.
To be honest, I think you are over-estimating how wound up everyone else is getting... you just made a few brash predictions with a not insignificant amount of bombast (including a lot of spat feathers about Stroll) so its attracted some attention, is all.

People feel inclined to pick at overly-bombastic predictions.

This is meant to be the pinnacle so they tell us, yet an 18 year old can have his Daddy pay for him to be ragging around an F1 car beating Alonso 2 time WDC and a man many crown as one of the greatest.
Sorry if that hurts some people but Stroll is not a Max wunderkind, he is there due to money and money only and the fact that any kid in his former series could get in an F1 car and drive it.
Change the flipping record, same embittered diatribe against Stroll every day- Nobody on here has said anything about Stroll being a 'Max wunderkind'.

But yet you are still blathering on about it. Many were completely writing off Williams and Massa, Massa seems to get a lot of grief around these parts.
I'm not spitting any feathers over Stroll, but its worth pointing out that he is in F1 because of a 80 million fund from his Daddy and I can remember reading a lot of bile and anger directed at Nico because he dared be born into F1 royalty with all the favors that brings, as apposed to Lewis the street urchin living on scraps till Ron rescued him and found he had a natural talent for going fast in fast things.
Can't remeber reading much respect aimed at Pastor either on here ever.

Whats allowed on PH:
Slagging off Massa, Nico and Maldonardo.

But can't do the same with Stroll because why?

Yet. Give him a chance to fk up before writing him off. He's not even had an F1 race yet.

Fair do's but Massa has hardly eff'd up nor did Nico, both can be pretty proud of their F1 CV's heck even Pastor wasn't that bad, has one more race win than Brundle ever did.

Point for me is that Stroll won't F up, in fact like I've said he will be beating Alonso for sure. The fact that if he can get into F1 and be top ten driver says more about F1 than anything else.
I do think Stroll will be good this season, so is that just a fortunate coincidence that his Dad could afford to get him there, or is it possibly that there are thousands of Stroll's plodding around in Motorsport categories or not even able to get any drive through lack of funds??
I think the latter.
No one will convince me otherwise that its worth following a driver and not the teams, the WCC i find more important to follow.

Can everyone just please agree with Tom. He might then stop banging on about the fact the Lance Stroll doesn't deserve to be in F1 let alone beat Alonso.

We can all then get back to arguing about Hamilton's off track lifestyle.

You have won an F1 race then I take it?
Slag off Pastor but Stroll is a genius? Both are an example of why F1 isn't even close to the pinnacle.

You've not won an F3 Championship, but you still feel at liberty to stick the knife in to poor old Lance Stroll when you get the opportunity...may he without sin and all that

To sum the thread up, as we've deviated from the actual testing somewhat:

Pastor was recently spotted reading an internet forum, remarkably there was positive comments on offer.

Lance's reaction to successfully returning to the pits with all the wings he left the pits with.

Fernando's slightly mystified by why it's seen as impressive that Lance will give him a beating this season, since his McLaren is powered by...

Meanwhile...

Seb cannot understand why his red chariot isn't being taken seriously by the tinterweb.

Nope i'm using both as an example of why F1 isn't the pinnacle of drivers. It's for sure the pinnacle of engineering in Motorsport though.
So I am at liberty as I'm dismissive of both, where as others are selective in their respect or lack of.
I doubt you'd understand that though.

I understand perfectly. It's all boiling back to you still being upset that people were rude about Nico, but not equally rude about Stroll.

On the basis you seem to be moving onto childish jibes about other posters ability to comprehend basic concepts for the purposes of point scoring, I think I'll leave this one here.

Acorns Children's Hospice look forward to receiving your £10 come lunchtime on the 24th.

For someone who keeps saying that for you its all about the car's and engineering you do keep going on about drivers. I can't work out if you are just winding people up or actually can't keep track of your own arguments.

He reminds me of a certain poster on the Liverpool thread (not that I think they are the same person - just both seem to be utterly convinced of their own opinion and not be able to comprehend someone might disagree with them). This other person also seems to change their view a lot, but not recognise it and "always" knew xyz was a problem and should have been fixed like they said in the past.

However I do think he has a point on here - and probably most people would agree with the sentiment. F1 is about a combination of skill, money, contacts and luck. There is probably a lot of people out there who could do well, but never get the chance. However I'd also say most people know this, but don't argue about it much as there is no point as it won't change.

Eh? I don't understand what you are implying now...

I was merely commenting on the fact that you said that "even Pastor wasn't that bad". I never said he hadn't won a race or that I had won a race or whatever else the voices in your head are telling you I'm saying.... He was that bad. He was.

(relative to the other F1 drivers - his contemporaries - you know the people we can compare him to - not made up stuff)

As someone who reads more than posts I cannot help but noticing that any thread that starts off as an interesting read soon loses that quality upon your, tommunster10's, arrival. Your incessant and incorrect use of 'of' when you mean 'have' only adds to the cringe factor.
tommunster10, please, please, PLEASE stop posting twaddle.
Thank you.
