Angry Toto. hehe

I think Hamilton will be secretly pleased with that. Bottas wasn't raising any eyebrows, Ferrari could win the WCC potentially which means the pressure might be on Merc to pick a #1 driver... so that'll be Lewis then.

Why was Hamilton getting booed so much on the podium, do they not like him much in Australia?
We no longer live in a world where free speech is allowed so no way are you going to get an accurate or honest reply to that question. Ask in private away from big eared PC nosey parkers.
Observing the body language of other drivers when they are in his vicinity provides some clues as to his popularity.
And how boringly predictable he trotted out the same old patronising "I must than the team for getting me on pole ......... blah blah blah blah". Some team that cocked up the boys pit stop eh?
I had stopped watching the race earlier as boredom had set in.

To anyone watching the highlights on C4 - who was the singer at the end credits?

Fantastic to see someone other than a Mercedes driver taking the win. Refreshing.

Unfortunately it seems even harder to overtake anyone which is very depressing. Clearly Vettel only won due to the strategy for Ferrari working for once.

Lewis was complaining that the power was playing up so I wonder if there was more to his performance than just tyres.

Bottas played a very good and drivers race. He clearly still needs to work himself into the Mercedes teams and a solid 3rd is a good start.

Kimi was pretty poor considering his teammates pace. He will need to improve if Ferrari want to go for a constructors Championship.

Verstappen did his best in a car clearly off the pace of the front too. Ricciardo just had a nightmare frown

To be fair the GP was pretty poor. Clearly the new owners needs a huge amount of change in the coming years.

I see he still hasn't surfaced.
I get the feeling he may have been given a few days to cool off and think about the way he posts in future.

I quite enjoyed the race (only watching highlights may have helped) but only as i'd been looking forward to seeing where each time and driver were at. I can fully understand that from a pure spectacle point of view however that it was a little dull!

Oh dear, I think I might give F1 a miss this year if this race is at all representative.

When are they going to learn they need to get rid of all the aero? Fine if they want to feel all clever and aerodynamic-engineery with all the fancy bits and pieces added but they shouldn't then complain if the viewing figures continue to fall and fall.

Ah ok, fair.

It was terrible.. had no idea where others were currently at, other than those they showed for battle timings.
You can get live timing on the F1.com website, it gives you lap times and gaps free.

It's just all wrong to me! What's the point in been 3-5 seconds faster if no one can overtake most races are going to be glorified parade laps especially Monaco!!!!

What we need is last years cars with this years engines and engine rules that would have been perfect
Monaco always is a glorified parade.

Aus is always limited on overtakes.

Neither venues show up the changes to the cars.

What is encouraging is the drivers can push the cars harder for longer without the tyres dying, that bodes well for when they arrive at a proper racing circuit. If they have to work harder for an overtake and not just rely on cruising by with DRS, that's a good thing.

Shame about Danny's bad luck.
If it was Hamilton you'd not have said it was bad luck, surely? wink It was a few mistakes which were his fault, and his team mate didn't have a failure - potentially down to his driving style?

Partly said tounge-in-cheek, but also partly true. He made quite a few mistakes, and so that is not bad luck.

The problem with all the "moaners" is that they want the "golden" age back.
What is the golden age ?
Obviously depends on your age.
For me its 1988-2004.....nice clean lines and lots of noise.
1992 there were supurb liveries and gorgeous looking cars but Mansell walked the championship, so was it dull?
There's usually a dominant team in each "golden" era. Great for that particular team but boring for everyone else.
There will never be a time when ANY driver/team combo can win...never has been...never will be.
Enjoy the current F1 for what it is.

The pinnacle of motorsport.

I could also be talking bks too !!

Did anyone else think the sky coverage was st today with regard to replays etc? Not sure if it was host broadcaster or sky but it took forever to get a replay of the Magnusson crash early on and we kept hearing about Palmer locking up at the same point each lap but they never showed it!
Considering the square root of fk all else was actually happening surely you just show those bits!

Agree they need to do something to allow cars to follow closely. Think I heard somewhere that they just need to strip the front wing back to a small basic design to allow this?

If the world feed doesn't give them the replay/bit of video Sky can't show it. They have no control over the pictures you see.

Who came up with these new regulations?

Was it the FIA? F1 Group? The teams/manufacturers?

Surely couldn't have been the drivers.

When you see one car on the track on it's own it looks a lot better than in pictures because the sense of speed is there and they look imposing but once you get a bunch they make the track look tiny because they're massive, the fins are abominations and of course, they're utterly boring and processional whilst racing.

Who the fk thought 'yeah this is what the fans want'?

It does, but on separate screens. It really is terrible relative to what TSL Timing serves up for free for every club meeting. \

Maybe the fans didn't like his tactics in the last race? It seems it was acceptable to the current breed of F1 drivers. But sportsmanlike? Not in my eyes.

A lot of the fans were asking for faster cars, no tyre saving, bigger tyres etc. So by doing that they basically have screwed up part of the racing that was introduced with previous regulations (which was bad as it was "manufactured" to a lot of fans). It's just the fans ask for stuff that often can't be given at the same time - faster cars will generally = more aero, and so it makes it harder to pass.
