Hi guys,

I'm looking to get down (finally) to see the race in 2019.

I'm going to Air B&B in Nice and whilst I will have a hire car I am anticipating getting to the track to be somewhat of an issue.

Does anyone have any guidance/recommendations? Such as park and ride or trains/bus services.

Cheers
Mat

I really wouldn't recommend driving in from Nice. You can get a train or bus from Nice to Monaco. They'll be absolutely rammed, but it is possible. Or take a boat for about €50 return...

Train for sure.

It's a quick journey and when I did it in 2009 the train was half empty on the way there for both quali and race. It's a short walk to the circuit from the station.

Jetpack wink

Train is the way, leave plenty of time as moving around the circuit is not that easy.

I had done similar research and found train would be the best option, But never got to put my research to the test because the French air traffic control strike fked my hopes of getting to Nice in the first place for the 2018 GP, Still a sour aftertaste.

We caught the earliest train we could as we were in general admission for raceday so needed to make sure we got our place sorted (gets very crowded in GA area very quickly).

We were staying in Vence, looking at the route of the train decided probably best to catch it pre-Nice so caught it from Cagnes-sur-Mer station. Parked the care on one of the nearby streets near the station (was free from for the day from what i remember).

Train was busy but not packed so managed to get to Monaco and over the General Admission area nice and easy.

As you can imagine (as with most big events) the journey back involves a big cue back to the train station. This was even after we had walked the tracked, had a drink and went around the town abit.

Hope that helps!

I go every year and gave up on the trains a few years back. Queues, pickpockets and a headache that you don't need at that time in the morning

I book private transfers to get out there and have no problem getting the train back. If there's a crowd of you it can even work out cheaper. I use Allodriver, but book waaaaay ahead of time. Now, really.
