The book on the Haas debacle is out soon

The Smoking Tire podcast did a chat with Alanis King one other authors a while ago, she gives a few insights in the interview. The book sounds like it'll be a very good read
OK, I've now just read the Kindle version of the book which was outwardly comprehensive up to about August last year, but so much has happened since then. The authors seem to have covered most points that were already in the public domain through websites, forums and social media. They’ve put it all in chronological order and look to have made contact with quite a few people in the circus, but most politely declined to respond or had to remain anonymous, such as some insiders formally from Haas.

There are no startling revelations about Storey that careful web research won’t find out, nothing on his history prior to the whole Rich Energy debacle, nothing about his private life (if he has one) before or during the previous sagas and they readily admit they hadn’t at that point uncovered anything 'blockbuster' in this vein. We still don’t get a huge insight into what went on behind the scenes with him, what makes him tick or where the money (if there was/is any) comes from.

If you’ve followed things in here or other race/car websites, what you’ll get is a useful reminder of events, some reiteration and reminders of the mad moments that have happened (and continue to happen beyond the books original scope) in the ‘Storey telling’ world he lives in. I used it as a useful way of getting back up to date on the web with what’s happened since the book was finished, getting back up to speed with as much as is available electronically and through Companies House etc., while I was involved in more pressing things.

Of course the latest nonsense about the on/off with OMG racing doesn’t feature, the aborted F1 return, or the current BTTC sponsorship. There’s little about the true ownership of the IP, the product itself, the distribution rights, why it can’t be found anywhere or any of the numerous other ‘smoke and mirror’ enterprises – failed, about to fail, or still hanging on with Rich Energy as the supposed main product or business.

If you want to reacquaint yourself with things up to about August last year, you could spend a few hours reading it and there are a handful of revelations that I hadn’t seen elsewhere, but that still haven’t made things totally clear. I suspect a follow up book must be in the offering, as this thing still hasn’t yet run its course and Mr Storey must still have a few more Rabbits to pull out of his beard, if indeed they aren’t just a figment of his imagination.

I await the next round of each!

I see that Storey has tweeted that the 2021 F1 title is going to be gifted to LH or some such drivel.

He should be banned from racing paddocks and fined for the embarrassment he brought to the sport. Nobody with any sense would get involved or be seen to be involved with him.

What part of Lewis receiving his rightful record 8th title hit a nerve?

I see what you’ve done there. Not a LH fan?!

My point was Storey shouldn’t be listened to whatever the subject as very little he said around the time of the Haas fiasco was the opinion of a rational man. He is not an authority on F1 and his opinions are no more informed than the man in the street.

No more informed than a looney at the bus stop waiting for the special bus.

If ever there was a club mired in controversy and issues in the last few years, one you’d not want to touch with a big stty stick, it’s Coventry City……

You're not going to want to listen to all this then:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6EgiJ3d96U

I'll admit I skipped through most of it as I don't have 45 minutes of my life to waste on him. But the bits I did listen to were laden with all the usual/previous BS and various cliches, but no real substance, detail or back up of any claims (as usual).

What does come across though is he actually, fully and wholly believes his own hype and BS. It's all rather sad to be honest.

Hope the current shareholders make sure that no paperwork gets signed, until the £50m is irrecoverably sitting in their bank account.

How the footballing authorities can see him as a ‘fit and proper person’ to own shares in a club, given his previous escapades, is another issue. Not that there haven’t been a load of dodgy people buying shares in football clubs over the years. One got forced to sell last year, after the government sanctioned him for links to Russia.

From the article:

"The Reading Chronicle's James Earnshaw reported that Storey had "never signed anything, never had any exclusivity, never showed any proof of funds and never told the club who any of his investors would be".

So unlike him.....

Has Storey ever actually done anything wrong or illegal other than the logo trademark thing?

His modus operandi is certainly odd but as far as I can recall, he's paid for what he'd had in terms of sponsorship and doesn't have HMRC sniffing around him .... or did I miss something?

He's not been convicted of anything, no.

There's a very good book Racing with Rich Energy which covers it well.
