If you can find the pre race interview, he gave, before the 2007 Australian Grand Prix when he replied to to question "Don't you feel privileged to be racing with a top team? (McLaren) He replied "At least I won't be racing with the monkeys at the back of the grid".
From then on he has been a nobody in my eyes.
You hold a grudge from something a 21 year old said, in a throwaway fashion before his first ever race in F1, 17 years ago? And nothing he has done or said matters?

Mental.
Yep.. the interview wasn’t before his first ever race in F1. he even completely misquoted the question… it was about the importance of being at the front of the grid at Monaco.

None of these modern F1 drivers would be able to make it to F1 in the 70's or 80's, they simply wouldn't be brave enough to take the risk (other than Alonso).
Similarly, none of the F1 drivers would be able to make it to F1 today, not one of them had the physical fitness required. MS was the first driver to really push peak fitness.
I'm not sure about that, they didn't push fitness because it wasn't needed, I don't think there is reason to believe they wouldn't be capable of it if required.

What's for certain is that someone like Lance Stroll wouldn't be racing if there was any serious risk involved.
F1 basically came from rich kids playing around with cars, in a time where loads of them died…

Do you think he’s handling his transition out of Mercedes well?
What is it that he's said that's upset you?
It's Carlos. Lewis doesn't need to say anything, just existing is enough to trigger him.

Carlos, considering you don't care about him at all, it is very nice of you to allow him to live rent free in your head.

Thought he had a decent race, helped by the timing of the safety car but he outdrove his teammate by a decent margin.

Surely not, I have heard on here that he is done, finished, being totally outclassed by his team mate.

Are you saying that perhaps those people are idiots and don't know what they are talking about?

I’m sure he’ll be fine without your defence. The point is, he’s rattled, and needs thicker skin imo.
Any links to these clips which show him being rattled or are you making stuff up?
Here you go, as you can see from this interview clip from yesterday he is massively rattled.

Noooo… through Carlo’s eyes there is a man, with no future… clearly mentally broken.

Maybe Carlo is projecting about others being narcissists and being rattled.

It must be a very confusing world for Hamilton’s detractors, where Ferrari want to give him about $100m a year and where the signing instantly adds $7bn to Ferrari’s market cap.

The marcap increase happened because of the results, they didn’t announce Lewis in their earnings call.

If this is directed at me you are wrong. It was definitely asked before the Australian race. See if you can find that one.

Nah, it’s your claim. It’s not up to me to confirm it. You back it up with the quote.

Apparently it was after the race, in the paddock interview after the main interviews. Not before as mentioned here, in fact before the race he said "everyone is professional here". Still the point remains, a hot-headed young talent with an obvious lack of any media training says something which could be seen as disrespectful, and nothing after the event in the intervening years. The philanthropy, the speaking out for just causes, the humbleness he's shown too, none of that matters.
