I don’t see his wife moving to Italy and she wears the boots in that relationship.

Also it really is amazing how there has been no-one to come and out do Adrian. Usually in this sort of thing you would have a younger upstart by now.

That's a symptom of the direction the sport has headed.

Adrian is the last of the designers who designed the whole car, using an easel. Nowadays, they design a front wing end fence. Or an engine cover.

Perhaps that's why Newey is so good.....

I always thought it was basically that Newey had all but signed for Ferrari, when Horner did a last minute deal with Aston Martin to do the Valkyrie because Newey wants to build the ultimate road car.

That basically failed, I have heard there is a RB car coming, but how real is that?

If he still has that ambition Ferrari appears a good destination to do that. So maybe that plus a blank check could swing things.

Goes on sale next year, according to Red Bull.

To add fuel to the conspiracy, wasn't Mr. Newey interviewed recently where he commented that he regrets not having worked with Lewis Hamilton. :-))

Indeed, which makes a nonsense of various posters claims that a driver has no input to the design of the car.

Rumours surfacing that Newey's understudy at Red Bull is off to Ferrari.
These are just rumours though at the moment but scuttlebutt says if he goes, so will Newey.

Likely to happen? I say no

I’ve just read that Adrian was pleased that he didn’t move to Ferrari in 2014 because since then they have built Red Bull with young names from within rather than going for already established names.
To go out of the sport having won the Constructors and Drivers Championships with Ferrari would be the icing on any career and must be tempting. So if he sees out his career at Red Bull any time soon you can understand that but if he moves to Ferrari then that is also understandable.

I shouldn't think money would be a massive motivator for him, although wherever he went he would be paid handsomely, I should imagine he is the sort of person who would relish a challenge, plus moving to Ferrari means he gets to work with Sir Lewis!
Imagine building a car in 26 that won Lewis his 9th WDC with Ferrari. That would really cement just how each were the best in F1 by a country mile.

To be honest Newey to Ferrari being a done deal is the only reason the Hamilton to Ferrari deal makes sense in my eyes.

Newey's record speaks for itself, every team he has worked at in the past 30 years or so has won championships, he's worth more than any driver on the grid if you ask me. Lewis knows something we don't or I don't understand why he would have made his move.

If, he is Ferrari bound I can see Lewis or Leclerc getting a championship within a couple of years unless internal politics screws it up.

Where was Newey's genius all those years Mercedes were winning multiple WCCs in a row? The FIA had to step in & cripple the Merc just so RB could catch up.

They were limited by an average Renault engine. Once the Honda was up to speed they caught up.

I think its more likely Hamilton just wants to drive for Ferrari than Newey moving. He sees that Merc aren't going to get another championship in his remaining years, RB aren't going to give him a seat so he might as well retire a Ferrari driver like others before him.

That said, I would love it if I was wrong.

I would not be surprised if Ferrari unveil some sort of wonder road car, kind of like the AMG One and the only way you can get one is if you drive for them. LH is well known for his liking of high end super/hyper cars.
Would be good to see him and Newey at Ferrari but i can't see it myself.

IIRC the message I got from his book was that he didn't want to move to Italy when his children were young. I'm pretty sure they're all grown up now.

F1, LeMans and road cars must hold some appeal.

And once more I refer back to the sailing announcement. It does seem awfully coincidental.
