Would he be able to put up with the crap that will inevitably surface at Ferrari I wonder ?

I hope he goes for it, it would truly be a glorious thing to beat Schumacher's record at Ferrari
This legendary crap that Ferrari still apparently have in their office culture - is it likely to be any worse than working for Horner?
No spunky fingers all over your work would be a bonus...

Who knows. If he’s not there though, odds are he’s gone.
Does he attend every race?
No he doesn't.

I predict Horner will want to make a very deliberate point of walking the entire length of the paddock, hand-in-hand with Newey hehe
bow So that'll be Horner going all the way with designer spice.

Well according to all the inside news on social media, I can exclusively reveal that Newey is definitely going to……

- Stay at RB, locked in to a contract.

- Has exit clause and leaving Red Bull.

- Aston Martin have given him 100m and leaving Red Bull.

- Ferrari have given him 100m and leaving Red Bull and can do whatever he wants, free Ferrari each month.

- Will be paid by Red Bull to do nothing. Design a new drinks can or some thing.

- Going to retire and just design yachts.

Terms yes, but getting established and long serving heads of each department to update their culture is always difficult and never guaranteed. Clearly 'something' about the culture at the team has hampered their success for some time now, and whatever that element is, there's no reason to assume there's an easy or quick way of addressing it and preventing it from watering down the efforts of someone like Newey.

That said... 'if' they get Newey designing their 2026+ car, and they have Lewis and Charles driving it, they would clearly have the potential for great success and would be foolish to not take seriously and update the team culture in order to maximise that potential. IE: hopefully that scenario would be a driving force improving the entire team, and would motivate every employee to dig deep for areas of improvement - because they would hopefully all appreciate that they have a golden opportunity that they have to not risk throwing away.

And perhaps newey could help poach a few of RBR's strategists too... That would help no end!

So *that’s* why Ferrari are all wearing blue this weekend.

Looks like it might actually be happening, rather than the endless speculation.

Am I missing a Newey = blue thing!?

Yea I've tried to not get too carried away with where he might go if he were to leave, because he hadn't even left - but now he has and taking all things into account, Ferrari seems most likely to me. In fact, it seems just about perfect really..

Oh oh

if only. I have read his book and he seems a singular character and I'm not certain Ferrari has the same attraction to him that it does on a lot of the F1 paddock

But Lewis might be carrot he needs.

fingers cross it happens, then that they can make a good car, and then that Lewis can shake of his malaise and win.

Lots of things yet to happen, but the first that seemed impossible (AN leaving) seems like it might actually happen.

He’s normally seen wearing a blue shirt at the races, that was my joke.

Ferrari have said they’ll be dressed in blue this weekend, celebrating their new HP sponsorship.

He’s almost always in RB engineer team blue shirt.

Sky reporting a couple of his reasons for leaving are being fed up with the power struggle going on at Red Bull and also not being a fan of the 'netflix' era of F1 and all the commercial stuff going on now. Maybe that yacht he's had built for going round the world is going to set sail next year...

They all are though aren't they? I didn't think it was unique to Newey to wear blue.

Which makes sense if he wants to work rather than retire.

I suspect he, or his legal team, will successfully argue that the unconscionable actions towards his PA have placed him in an impossible position, and left any contract clauses untenable.
