Thanks Jonathan, that does sound very tempting I must say!

I’m sure the aero is awesome

The Pirelli tyres used by BRDC F3 do require some effort to get initial tyre temps up. The Avon slicks which will be reborn as Nova are easier to work with from cold, but you may be managing tyres at the end of a session. Michelin wets are better than Pirellis.

I'd be very wary of running a full F3 spec engine on 99 RON fuel.

Monoposto F3B lap records for comparison. Speeds are an average speed...

Brands Indy - 44.607 (97.48 mph)
Brands GP - 1:24.945 (103.12 mph)
Castle Combe - 1.03.723 (104.51 mph)
Donington National - 01.06.344 (107.38 mph)
Silverstone National - 00:54.955 (107.46 mph)
Silverstone GP - 02:01.836 (108.16 mph)
Snetterton 300 - 01:48.480 (98.52 mph)

All set with broadly similar cars.

Compare those lap times with other cars and it will stack up very favourably!

It is being auctioned now on: https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2003-dallara-f... and will be sold in 6 days. I am guessing it will go for low-mid £30's so if you have a very understanding missus, don't be shy! smile

This is interesting. I was doing Brands in the high 40's and like I said I re: Silverstone National. Turning into Copse at 'nearly' flat out, is not something I will ever forget!

Let me tell you about how I came to own it...
Good stuff - it's great to keep these things going even if not in actual competition. Quicker than any supercar; leaning on the aero requires a totally different mindset.
I'm tempted to get back into these things (I competed in FV and FR from the mid '90s to early '00s), but timing isn't great right now... perhaps next year.
Good luck selling smile

A well driven car In F3 trim (26mm restrictor & low ride height) turn in speed will be circa 135mph, apex speed around 130mph.

Monoposto restrictor (-1mm) and 40mm+ ride height, which has consequences on both drag and downforce, knock a few mph off those.

Yes, very fast and all those set by talented, but certainly not professional drivers. If you want to go that fast in something with a roof over your head, you'll need to spend £ 150,000 + for a Ferrari 458 challenge cup car or similar. Radicals and Sports 2000 offer similar peformance levels.
