Can we have some PHSS events oop north please???
This has been asked before and is a good idea but not many/any car companies north of Jaguar that can host. If you look at the host companies in the past, Jag, Land Rover, Mercedes, Nissan, BMW, Rolls Royce, Goodwood, Vauxhall they are based down sarf.
They could try and organise something with the formula E teams at Donington with a few demo laps to see the new cars in action. Although it might be difficultly to find a spring\summer\autumn weekend when the circuit isn't hosting a race meeting.

Top work PH. This is the first service I have attended. Yes the food que was a little long. But thankfully I got in it very early so was munching before most people arrived. Thanks to the guy who took this shot of my car. I completely forgot to take any.

I will go and put it on my build blog immediately.

I wasn't aware that Hertfordshire County Show Ground was a car company...

HELP NEEDED! I lost a pair of prescription glasses in a brown case.
Multifocal so take ages to get new ones, if any kind generous wonderful petrol head has come accross them you would make an old half blind git very happy.
I will even queue for you for a bacon sarni at the next event

Great day.....

Look up this thread, or the other Sunday Service thread; someone found some glasses!

My first Pistonheads Sunday Service and I was very impressed.

Fortunately or not I didn't have far to come (6 miles) as I'm in St.Albans. The entry was quick and efficient and parking was excellent (I expected a queue to get in at 9am).

Thanks to Dunlop (Cap), AutoGlym (Samples), PH (Stickers...or were they tattoos?) and Caterham for supporting.

Great turnout of PH members with some lovely cars with a few gems including the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren, Diablo lots of Porsche, Aston etc.

As others have said the catering was good quality, the food did seem to be under staffed.

Ideas on future PH Sunday Service:

I did think Caterham and AutoGlym were a little removed from the cars and could have been positioned a little better to ensure they had a better footfall - this would entice other businesses to support PHSS in future.

Not sure if there was a PH stand (I didn't see one) and it would have been good to get a FREE PH sticker. PH could also display and sell a range of the merchandise e.g. T-shirts etc

Perhaps PH could giveaway a custom PH sticker (e.g. PHSS Herts showground 31/08/14) for each Sunday Service you attend - like a PHSS badge of honour.

I agree with others around putting your name down on the list and not turning up. Should be 3 strikes and you're out for 12 months.

Looking forward to future events. Thanks biggrin

Don't panic - a nice chap handed them in to me so they're unharmed - Email me where you'd like them sent and I'll get them in the post for you tomorrow. James.drake@haymarket.com

Glad everyone enjoyed the Service - it was the first one that I've been responsible for so it's great to see people appreciated the little added extras.

Details on the next Sunday Service coming up tomorrow afternoon...

Lovely pictures, what did you use to take them? Have you edited at all or is this 'as they come'?
Just a 9 year old full frame camera (Canon 5D Classic) and a Canon 50mm f1.4 lens (a few were taken on 28/85mm lenses but most were from the 50mm). Just some slight tweaks in lightroom really, nothing fancy. This is straight from the memory card:

Thanks for taking such a lovely pic of my baby smile

I don't think they did. Pretty sure it was a (very well done) kit car based off the MG TF.
That's a very rare Noble M10, only a couple in existence. They never built the M12 as a convertible.

Thanks for the write up and positive review! To answer a couple of questions:

To an extent I see what you're saying about Caterham and Autoglym, but not having run and event at that venue before it is hard to know where the focus would be... But saying that I'm not sure where we could have put them to get more footfall - they were both in between the cars and the catering and the area was by far the busiest part of the event. Equally, both companies were over the moon with the day and have already expressed an interest in attending again in future so perhaps it simply wasn't an issue.

We didn't have a PH stand but this is something we were already looking at... It's more complicated that it sounds but we're onto it.

In terms of stickers.... You should have been given a FREE one on entry? We've looked into custom stickers too, but they're cost prohibitive unless we charge for them, and I'm not sure that would be very popular. Don't forget we don't charge for these events!

Lastly, we're looking into a way to track attendance at events to take a step towards the "3 strikes" rule you mentioned...

I'm glad you enjoyed the event and I hope that this has answered some questions.

I look forward to seeing lots of you at future events too - more details on the next PHSS will be landing tomorrow PM.

Then that would be why I thought it was such a convincing kit car! hehe

Just googled it, didn't even know it existed! In my defence, the rear quarter panel looks eerily similar to the TF!

I wasn't sure if it was a Noble (or what it was), so I had a look to see what is said on the tax disc smile
