Jaguar Sunday Service Heritage Motor Centre 02/11

And the Sunday Service juggernaut continues! Join us at Gaydon in November

Last year we made our inaugural Sunday Service visit to Gaydon as guests of Jaguar. It was a fantastic event that was well attended and enjoyed by all. And we do mean all - even the nice people at Jaguar had such a great day that they want to do it all over again, so have invited us back.

Put a note in your diary for Sunday November 2 and head to the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon for 0900. There are 300 spaces for PHers which will surely fill up very quickly. You can spend time wandering around looking at the various PHer cars or enjoy the Heritage Motor Centre's delights for free. Yep, there's free entry for all attending PHers that would normally cost £12. We're good like that. If you can spare a few pennies on the day then donations are gratefully received. The Centre includes the Jaguar Heritage Display featuring iconic old Jags such as the TWR XJ-S (a bit like this one) and the 1988 XJ220 concept plus many more. Jaguar are also arranging a couple of extra special exhibits just for us, details of which will be announced in due course.

So it looks all set to be a great day. But it doesn't stop there. It seems that - much like the good folk at Zenos Cars - the guys at Jaguar also appreciate the importance of bacon on a Sunday morning. So it's breakfast on Jaguar for everyone who comes along. Bonus!

Add your name to the calendar here but be quick as spaces are limited to 300.

See you in a couple of weeks!

Free entry and a free breakfast as well!

Thanks PH and Jaguar - looks like it will be brilliant. Good to see loads of SS events back on the calendar, although it's a shame they weren't during the summer...

Agree with the above re the Summer. Shame but can't grumble as a lot of people put themselves out for this and all for free. Wish Jaguar could have laid on a SS at one of their manufacturing plants instead of the Heritage Centre. Maybe next year....please?

Wohoo another PHSS! Stuck my name down knowingly fully well that it will only result in me drooling over X308 XJRs yet again.

I'm looking forward to this, I haven't been to Gaydon for a while.

Is there a restriction on people per car? Or would I be OK to bring a couple of passengers?

Don't get too excited about the Aston display, it's tiny.

Things have changed with jag now appreciating their heritage. All the cars used to be stuffed in a hanger at Castle Brom, including a Pink Barbie XJS, the 90's F Type prototype and as a reminder of progress, the welding jigs for the series 2 bonnet, which took 2 hours and 90 parts to make. The XJ40 has about 35 and took a few miniutes to produce.

On a tour of Browns Lane, saw an XJS v12 and transmission being dropped in a skip after failing QA, enough to make a grown man cry.

Looks like it will be a great weekend.

They used to have a museum at Browns Lane which went when the factory was sold off. What they have on regular display at Gaydon is just a few cars from there, which IIRC was intended as a temporary measure, with a promise of a new Jaguar museum somewhere, which is now sadly overdue.

Gaydon museum is going to be extended to house part of new collection. Probably not in time for PHSS, but maybe next time..?

I guess this just reflects the generally diverse ownership of PHers and the luck of those who were able to book up!

Nevertheless, there may still be over 20 Jaguars attending and with a broad range from SS 100 to F-Type. As this is a Jaguar sponsored event it might be a gesture of respect to park the Jags together on the day?
