Fabulous day with the Bentley. At the end of my second session, one of the brake cooling pipes came off - got absolutely soaked as the hose waved around! Oh how we laughed. The new OZ Superleggovers and the Federal RSR tyres made a huge difference. It took until the last session to begin to get the best out of the car. The tyres were hardly warm, not bad considering at other track days the old tyres were smoking! Says a lot for going to 30 aspect ratio tyres from 45%. Dis about 100 miles on track, plus the journey there and back from Tunbridge Wells on about 80lt of super. Not bad for 2 tonne and 430bhp!
There were reports of me losing fluid - but that was the water from the brake cooling.
Got black flagged once for noise - probably because of the RH exhaust being a bit loud coming out of the chicane.

Many thanks to all for the kind comments about the Bentley. Much appreciated.

Best track day in a long time. Thanks to one and all.

one of the best "sessioned" days ive had at Goodwood. We were so lucky with the weather, absolutely perfect conditions. There was a few times were i felt i was on my own out there, which means either we are all equal driving Gods or i was too slow to catch anything!!!
Alex, you and Jay must have had the perfect weekend, trackday, SS, good foodthumbupyou need to do Cadders for sure and the MR2 would be ideal for that, nice twisty technical circuit. I havnt been there in the turbo yet, gonna wait for spring for that, but heres a bit of vid this year from the na 1.6 Eunos to give an idea!

great to finally see the Bentley in the flesh Paul, and love the way it was instantly "drawn" to the white ensign, flying the flag for all things British. hehe

you did look pretty spectacular as you came out of the chicane and into the pits in a cloud of steam, top work

Love the pic of the Bentley.
Note the gaffa tape sun visor to try a shield from the low sun. Jeez that was scary coming out of Madgwick totally blind!!

Thanks so much for posting the vid @ Cadwell, Darren. Looks amazing. We are intending to go in Feb, it's decided!

You are right! What brilliant weather we had. It was a fantastic weekend with incredible food to top it all off. Thanks for the recommendation. We enjoyed your suggested route back to the A3 as well!

All I need now is a pic of George the WRX wagon in action and my grin will go from annoying to mesmerisingly annoying... ;D

Great photos 350Wedge!
First time on track at Goodwood, and what a lovely circuit with fast flowing corners - we just need more power - my right leg is still aching from constant burying of the throttle into the floor while trying to crank anything better than 108mph from our diesel MINI before the end of the long straights, and conserving as much momentum as possible through the corners & chicane in our daily driver on hard compound Michelin energy-saver tyres... wobble
It was a pleasure to share the track with so many lovely cars & people - thanks in particular to:
FER4L for bringing the SL55 along - sounded absolutely wonderful as it blasted past us on the straights
Trikster for bringing the Boxster Spyder - and a MINI GP will be great fun
V8 FOU for bringing the Bentley - great sight & sounds, and many thanks again for backing off to let us crawl past on the straight
S66YCU for bringing the ST - lovely work under the bonnet
phad88 for bringing the Elise - a pleasure to share a lap with you
abitmad for bringing the STI - hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did
182 Sam's good friend in the Civic - for a superb spin ahead of us on the exit of St Mary's on cold rear tyres smile
biglump for bringing the thunderous Monaro, and the PH chaps in the Megane - so planted through the corners
and last but not least, to whoever it was that gave us some great advice on lines through Madgwick & Lavant - smoother with faster exit speeds as a result - many thanks indeed.
Thanks to everyone else too - we had a really great day - hope to share tracktime with you again somewhere.

Thank you Mr Wedge for the photos...now pride of place as my FB cover photo!

That Mini was awesome through the chicane...well driven.

The SL sounded outright dirty along the pit straight

Great job in the Mini! We came up behind you in the Megane during the last session and you were carrying great speed through Madgwick.
