RE: Vulcan Sunday Service 25/01

What an awesome visit, its made me want to go on one of the more in-depth tours
I have some photos of inside, but none of the cars. Some very nice ones there but I'm afraid the Vulcan took priority for me today!

Great trip out Nice to see the old girl getting the attention in needs hopefully to remain in service for as long as possible. On our tour i was impressed to know it had a 100% service record last year. Testament paid to the team that keeps a 55 year old war machine going!
Nice cars in the car park, also had a fairly nice drive out and a a quick chat with a few other folks
Look forward to another meeting one day

loved that trip. have donated several times to keep her in the air, and it was a pleasure to do so again and get up close to her. amazing how far Chadwicks designs changed in little over a decade.

When you think about it, the advances during WW2 and the Cold War were at an astonishing pace. We went from the first flight of this in 1932:To the Vulcan's first flight in just 20 years! To put that in perspective, the F22 first flew in 1997; if progress had carried on at the same rate, it'd look ancient by now.

Another brilliant Sunday Service and some great photos to go with it! Thanks to the organisers both at PH and at the Vulcan to the Sky Trust. Can't wait to see her flying this year.
I don't suppose anyone got any pics of the black & red Mini JCW?

What a great morning!
Sorry if it is too pic heavy, but I wanted to share what a great day it was!
Great photos - not pic heavy at all! Was a thoroughly enjoyable morning - glad we had somewhere warm to gather, and something very interesting to look at!Sorry if it is too pic heavy, but I wanted to share what a great day it was!
Did you get some special access for some of those photos though?!
I've loved the Vulcan since seeing it flying through the Scottish Borders in 1978 - 31 years later I was the nav in one of two VC10s that flew in formation with her at Brize Norton in 2009 (the right hand one from 1:50). Two former colleagues flew in the epic trip down South in 1982.
Well done to those who were able to attend - anything that can be done to keep 558 flying gets a big thumbs up from me.

We had a brilliant morning, a big thank you to everyone who were involved in the organisation of this! It was well worth the trip over. Of course in a hanger dominated by a unique and iconic aircraft Fizmo Jr was most taken with the turbo starter car, and was at his happiest sat in there making engine noises and pretending to beep the horn. He was smitten with the lovely Jensen CV8 too - proud Dad moment haha. Top marks to whoever brought that!
