Silverstone Sunday Service with track time!

Join us at the home of British motorsport for a Sunday Service with a difference

On Sunday March 22 PistonHeads is returning to Silverstone for a Sunday Service with the chance to drive your car around this iconic circuit. Built as a WWII RAF Bomber station in 1943 and first used for motorsport in 1947, Silverstone has hosted many a legendary race through seven decades. Motorsport actually began there when a local resident and some friends held an impromptu race around the two-mile perimeter track. By its conclusion there was a dead sheep and a written-off car...

We're hoping for neither of these outcomes off the back of our next visit to Silverstone, combining a PH Sunday Service and chance of track time too. The Sunday Service element will be the same as previously with space for 500 cars and gates opening at 0900h. Refreshments will be available to buy throughout the morning with the Sunday Service drawing to a close at 1300h. Sign yourself up via the calendar here.

Taster track sessions an added bonus
Taster track sessions an added bonus
We're also very excited to offer PHers the chance to drive their own cars on the 1.6-mile National Circuit with dedicated paddock parking. These sessions are designed as taster sessions and for just £45 you will get 30 minutes on track. Please note that if you book track time, your name doesn't need to be added to the Sunday Service calendar as you will be parked in the paddock not with the Sunday Service. The areas are next to each other though so you will be able to wander around looking at the readers' cars in attendance.

There are a few track sessions available throughout the day, however the PistonHeads specific ones are at 0900h for intermediate levels of track experience, 0935h for novices and 1010h for intermediates again (please note these are the "on track" times and briefings will need to be attended before then). All of our track sessions will have a maximum number of 20 cars per session so there will be plenty of space. We'll also be taking some of the PH Fleet cars on track and offering passenger rides in them.

In case you haven't been before, the address you're aiming for is: Silverstone Circuit, Towcester, Northamptonshire NN12 8TN

To book your track slot and for more info click here. Add your name to the Sunday Service calendar here.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

eybic & the PH team.

The 'book online' link in the text didn't work, but the 'buy now' link at the top to the right of the photo worked.

On it like Sonic, booked in and ready to roll biggrin

And yes I had to go through the Silverstone site direct, the link above gave cookies and Java errors.

If you click "buy now" it works. I've sent them an email though.

My first track day, or session. Any advice gratefully received - don't want to get under your front wheels!

They'll explain a lot in the brief. Only 20 cars per session on a very large track, you should be alright to find your feet on your own. Give your mirrors a glance every now and then but don't get glued to them or you won't enjoy yourself. Perhaps consider a bit of instruction? I'm in two minds, you'll learn a lot but then won't be able to go out and practice it which could be a bit annoying.

As much as I'd love to book on to the track session, I'm not sure my clutch would take it at the moment

I know it's tempting but I've only got to get hit by someone else who is novice as well.....

That says 102dB for the drive by but doesn't say what the limit is for the standard 0.5 mtr test at 45deg. If Drive by is 102db then the static must be quit a bit higher.
