RE: PistonHeads Sunday Service: Fast Car Festival 31/7
Discussion
Just got back from Donnington. Car of the show has to be the £2million Aston Vulcan which will be there Sunday as well. The guy who owns it is letting loads of people sit in it. Good on him. Don't know if he was allowed round the track as he was too loud for track rules. Think he broke the noise level at just above tick over. Great show with lots of variation of cars from supercars to cars that have had lots of time spent building them. Some good live events also.
It took me a while to find the Track Rules they are here:
http://www.thefastcarfestival.co.uk/sites/default/...
If anyone else needs them.
If you're under 5'2" you can't drive - seems odd.

I won't be making it tomorrow. I'm part of the other piston heads display. However we all park in the same place. I can email someone my pass for tomorrow as I won't be using it. You'll just have to print it out then. If anyone wants it then just email me

Well f. me, I've just sat in a Vulcan. Wow.
By the way there are still track places for grabs, they'll sign you on first come, first served.
Really ?By the way there are still track places for grabs, they'll sign you on first come, first served.
I'm in the 4pm and asked if it's possible to go in the later session too (as I know lots dropped out) and he told me only if I paid £30.
I would if I was in my track car but worn tyres means I'm in my road car.

You mean this one..... video from when it was about to fire up....http://vid1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag158/max911...
And then when it blew me for 6 from the side exit exhaust when he decided to rev it

Fair play to the owner for displaying the car and letting folk in to have a look.
And big thanks to PH for arranging admission. It made a nice change from the regular Sunday Service set up

It was nice to see/hear (if you'll pardon the pun) people's appreciation for the owner of the Vulcans' time/generosity in showing his car as when he switched it off there was a round of applause - that doesn't happen very often does it? I guess the show needs more support as it still felt very embryonic in size terms though maybe it'll grow (but not to the extent of the Festival of Speed as an example which has become too large IMO)http://vid1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag158/max911...

Really enjoyed today, thanks PH.
As cool as the Vulcan was, the car of the day for me was the Supra in our Sunday Service.
The highlight of the day was the 10am-ish track session where they had 2x 650S, 2x Aventador SV, 2x Nissan GTR (I think one was a Nismo), 2x GT4, a GranCabrio MC and a few others all on at the same time! I was lucky enough to watch the entire session and it was quite a spectacle.

Thanks to James and the PH team in arranging this free SS including track session.
The show itself was ok but the Vulcan was a real treat as 1 of only 24 in existence. Big hats off to the owner too who was more than happy to talk to people and answer questions, but also letting pretty much anyone climb in to have a sit and pic taken. You won't see many £2m car owners offering to do that.
Track session - well we stayed till 4pm to go on track - had a ball. Not sure if there were 30 cars out there..but some of us did stay behind to use the track sessions at the end of the day that PH managed to get.
