I would really like track time and didn't get it so I guess I may be in luck with people who cant make it!
You can have my slot if it isn't a typo. I say typo because apart from the ticket there wasn't anything attached to the e-mail. Will wait for PH response

Hello James,

In my e-mail it says 'Congratulations, you have been allocated a place in track session 1, which is at 16:00.'

But I didn't ask for a track session, typo or have I been given it by mistake. Don't want anybody missing out because of it
No problem - this was a mistake due to my copy and paste skills - you're the only person I put on 2 lists, so don't worry about it as I'd allocated one too many people to Session 1 - but thanks for letting me know.

With regards to everyone else that is having a moan...

The FREE track sessions are later in the day, which isn't ideal. But they're free, just like the Sunday Service is. And using PH is. If you have signed up for them but don't use them, that's your loss as I'm sure other people will fill the spaces on the day (PHers, or maybe even the people who have paid to be there)

However, to not come to the event at all just because you are not on the track is really unfair on the people who would gladly have just come along to enjoy the SS and their free show entry.

And for those of you moaning about not being selected for track time, if we'd done it on a first come first served basis there would be just as many people moaning that they hadn't seen it until it was too late so either way we lose.

Honestly, you lot don't inspire us to keep arranging all this free stuff for you. At times like this it feels as though may well be the very definition of a thankless task.

I don't get why people are moaning to be honest.. Where else are you going to be given free track time at a place like Donington?

As much as I second that, it may mean I get to go out on track so, swings and roundabouts!

People really need to stop their moaning so much. The event is free!

if you think you can do better go & do, leave the rest of the people who appreciate these events & have the decency to actually turn up when we say we are to it.

James I'm not moaning and will be attending however I (and I think everyone else) assumed the Track sessions would be first thing.

(they usually are as the paying people tend to book from 10am onwards)

It would also have been far simpler to run the usual "first come" for the Tracktime which would mean it's easy to re allocate should people drop out.

Hang on, so even if you don't have track time you still have to stay until 17:30?

James - please don't loose heart. The vast majority of us really appreciate what you and the rest of the PH team do to organise these superb events.

You made the signup rules for attendance and allocation of track time very clear. The whingers won't be missed one bit.

James, I think the majority of us appreciate the effort that goes into these events and most are going to still turn up.

The only confusion has been around track times and those of us that have commitments later in the day cannot make 4pm onwards. That's the only bit people have highlighted which is a fair point.

Anyway looking forward to Sunday and thanks again PH for organising driving

I doubt that... It's not a prison.

You would think not but if our area is located in the show area, I can't believe they'll want people whizzing (slowly) here, there and everywhere.

Could we get clarification please? The previous poster who opted out suggested we did have to remain until the closing time.

You can leave at any time - it is just that you'll need to use the tunnel to exit. This will be no problem as people leave in dribs and drabs, but wouldn't work with 100 people all turning up at once. That's why it says in the email that if you do arrive late you should still get in, but it may take a really long time!

Thanks James!

I have emailed - i'm happy for my track time to be allocated to someone else as I don't want it to be wasted. Unfortunately, I can't commit to staying all day due to commitments on Sunday evening.

Thanks again for all the efforts from everyone involved.

For those only wanting to attend because of free track time. shame on you. A free day out, spent with like minded people and catching up with friends you haven't seen for x amount of time. Think I'll need all day just to get round seeing certain people.

Thank god my track session is at 4... smile

Thanks James for yet again organising what will inevitably a brill day!

Hi James, there seems to be a lack on information either that or I'm unable to find it, could someone please confirm requirements for track time(license etc) and sound limit, static and flyby.

Thanks

At this event pretty much every show stand there was offered free tickets and track time as part of the deal. I know of at least 2 other forums I use that offered the free track time and another that only offered free tickets as they didnt want their "show cars" leaving the stand. I even know of one forum that has been given 60 free display car tickets to this event and not a single member has taken them up on it because the rules of the event states cars cannot be moved until 5:30pm. The PH stand may get away with leaving early as their stand in next to the entrance/exit so at least they dont have to drive through the show but like every other show, the show organisers will take a dim view of any stands that allows members to leave before 4pm at the earliest
