RE: Prodrive Sunday Service 19/02
Discussion
I walked the hard yards in as it was on my doorstep, as still a hundred off the list
Saved a few hours not washing the car so it was worth the effort
Good turn out and informative presentation (needs a pa nextime)
A nice mix of cars in attendance
As a footnote, all other Sunday services have been attended in the traditional way by consuming a indecent amount of hydrocarbons in as short a time as possible, my understanding was that spaces were limited by parking, so I walked from eurocarparts, ( if your local you know it) not quite on the doorstep.
so my humble apologies to all those in supercars who found my 2mph gait annoying as I trudged past car after car to become someones + 1 by proxy, without the inconvenience of having to stop on the way to give a lift to a complete stranger

Disappointed not to see the P2 on display
Queueing for over 30 mins to get in wasn't exactly fun either, nor was watching quite a few people park in a nearby business park and wonder in on foot, shocking organisation on the parking front too.
Sadly, not one of the better Sunday Services - not sure I'll bother again.

Whats wrong with people wondering in on foot??Queueing for over 30 mins to get in wasn't exactly fun either, nor was watching quite a few people park in a nearby business park and wonder in on foot, shocking organisation on the parking front too.

What's the point in signing up, to not be checked off at the gate? One bloke I was chatting to said he'd seen it inn Facebook and wondered down with his lad. The threat of being put on the naughty list amounts to sweet FA as well.
Is it a PH event for the PH community, or a free-for-all car meet?

Unless I'm mistaken, the whole point is that it's a PH event that you sign up to attend.

The idea of having the list is to gauge interest? And also most of us are pretty decent folk and if we didn't make the cut then we wouldn't have gone! - Except I wasn't on the list and I turned up anyway, I had moderator permission, nyweeehh~!What's the point in signing up, to not be checked off at the gate? I don't think checking off on the list is practical, if you went to Mercedes Benz world last year you'd realise what a farce it was, and the queues were horrendous.
Your post kind of made it sound very much like one of those inbred little village communities where no-one likes those outsiders!
I don't personally think they should advertise it on FB, and I agree with you that it should be for PH members only - But that's not my decision.
Maybe requisite for entry is a PH sticker somewhere
The entry requirement of 250 was due to the limited spaces.
I'm not of the "little village" mentality - far from it. I just find it frustrating to have to sign up for something, turn up (despite something else coming up) as I've signed up to find a poorly organised free for all.
If you don't have to sign up as you can blag it, then guess what people will do in future?

A big thank you to the team from Prodrive for taking time out of their weekend to let us mooch around their impressive facility & of course to the PH team for organising it.
In response to the comment about queuing to get in, it's the same as some of the other PHSS in that it isn't a multiple entrance facility & hence unless you don't stop everyone on the way in, even with speedy parking, a queue will form if everyone arrives at the same time. Also, there must have been quite a few empty passenger seats - in the spirit of PH we had a couple who couldn't make the list who followed us down in convoy to Banbury & hopped into 2 empty seats & in doing so we maximised the PH experience as otherwise they'd not have come along.
I was amazed to see some of the parking was questionable I.e. Cars taking double spaces....we're a forum of enthusiasts & hopefully everyone respects each other's cars when it comestibles parking & getting in/out of them.

Big thumbs up from me. Thanks to PH for organising it and the nice people of Prodrive for opening up their premises on a Sunday to allow us Petrolheads in for a nosey. Very interesting to see how they've now expanded into other areas and not just motorsports.
5th in line in the queue and had a nice chat with the AM N430 and GTI Clubsport S owner while we waited for the gates to open at 9am.
