Great day - thanks PH and Prodrive... sorry we went a weird way .. totally winged it when we lost the convoy and ended up leading the mini-pack :-)

See you all soon again

I think you still got there before the rest of us! I took the exit for Ballsall Common, but a few others behind me followed you down the A45 anyway.

Thanks PH & Prodrive for a brilliant start to the Sunday Service season.
Great cars, great location and seeing behind the scenes made this probably my favourite SS yet.

Maybe I spend too much time on the M25 but I'm seriously baffled how can anyone moan about about a short queue of cool cars for a free privileged visit to Prodrive?!
Anyway enough of that, loved this pair and wondered if it was just coincidence they were parked up next to each other.

That was the car I was passenger in, first thing we got told as we arrived was that we could park there aswell, so it would've been rude not to, plus I'm ginger so it counts hehe

Was good to see round the place, and what they do that's maybe less obvious - those RR centre consoles looked like they would be more at home in a private jet than a mumtruck.. Good the see cars such as the 6R4, JB's BAR, etc. so thanks to Prodrive for hosting.

No complaints on parking from me, although I was early and in the queue about 100yds from the gate, although that gave me and another PH'er a nervous moment when an artic needed out of the unit next door.

Just a suggestion, but if there is a need for any marshals for a car park, how about having maybe two or three (responsible) members as volunteers at the smaller events such as this one - maybe just for the first half hour or so, with a guaranteed spot on the list and maybe a bacon sarnie, or PH sticker as a reward. I use the word responsible, as I probably need to rule myself out at this point (due to the one time I did that job).

No coincidence, they arrived as part of the same group.

^This, is my excuse too. GT3RS parked fine, 356 speedster parked fine, GT4 parked fine, and then a car which will remain nameless didn't and then left early so I looked like the parking retard. (I can fit my ego into a single parking space, honest.)

Thanks to all for putting this one on, really enjoyed it!

"please do not get carried away and be sensible when arriving and leaving! Failure to do so could severely damage our chances of doing future Sunday Services, and nobody wants that"

Let's hope we're allowed back next year!...

Another great S/S, big thanks to Pistonheads and Prodrive for putting this one on. I have a lot of respect for the staff that give up their Sunday so that we can share and enjoy the work that they do. I wish my office reception looked as good as theirs!

I would echo some of the previous comments about the way some cars exited the site when they had been explicitly asked to not do so and 15mph signs were clear. Not ideal when we know this has already frustrated another venue which is now not on this year’s list. Personally I believe putting the event on Facebook where Pistonheads has 140k likes means that word spread to people who were just there to make video content and now why there are now loads of videos of ‘Supercars speeding from PH meet’ on Youtube. If that crowd was not waiting on the corner, I imagine most would have been more well behaved.

This is a bit of a rant now but also what’s the point of having restricted numbers if people are just going to park in another car park and walk in. I thought the numbers were to control the number of people as well as cars, but it seemed like anyone could just wander in yesterday.

Thanks to PH for organising this, and the ProDrive staff who gave up their Sunday morning.

I thought it went well, and the queue into the carpark was not and issue.

And thank you Alex for the passenger ride in the V6 Exige ("The Sparrow Killer"), without which I would not have been able to attend.

I would like to add my vote to those asking PH not to publicise SS events on other social media until PHers have had a reasonable chance to book via the forums. Some of us are busy working on Tuesday afternoons and are not able to check every 30 seconds to see when it's available.

The event for prodrive went live on Facebook after the event was fully subscribed so no point in it whatsoever.

I find the FB events useful for managing my diary as 99% of the other events I attend also arrange via FB. it's a good way of keeping all the information in one place, I can launch Google Maps straight from the page etc... It's convenient.

Still not sure what the issue with acceleration in a straight line on a clear, dry, well sighted road with no traffic is. It's not like people were coming out of the factory on the lock stops in a cloud of smoke, it's was hardly Ace Cafe.

Great first SS of the year!

Arrived a little late around 10 but seems that was good to miss to queue earlier.

Amazing collection of cars! Glad my good friend's Wartburg was received well! Clunky 70's looking thing in Green with Brown interior. Niftily powered by a litre two-stroke! A rare 'ol beastie!

Also good to bump into familiar faces, well, the call of 'Bubble Girl!' was handy since my face recognition isn't the greatest!

My Elan had just been fixed from some gremlins and was running sweet again, although still awaits re-spray & tartification. Good to get her out!

Thanks all!

In the video a few posts up there is car doing a full launch on the wrong side of the road, causing a car coming the other way to have to pull in and stop. There was clearly some other unrelated traffic around on that 15mph limit road.

I'm just surprised that so many people were prepared to rag their cars from cold just because someone was pointing a camera at them.

If you want to drag race your car then the Santa Pod SS is for you. The Merc on trade plates at the end of the video should definitely be banned from future events.... I don't seem to be in any of the videos so I don't think I was there. Or I was just a bit boring for the cameras.

That's what I was surprised about, albeit I probably shouldn't have joined in, I got my oil warm first, it wasn't unsafe, and I didn't attempt anything like launch control.

It was a good start to the PHSS calendar, and I look forward to attempting to attend all (minus LeMans).
