Is 500 the limit? Or is that on 'stand' and other people can just turn up and wonder around? Don't want to get on track, but would be good to see some shiny toys!
500 is the limit to get in. If you're not within the 500 don't turn up.
Is that why the stands are so quiet at the F1, Silverstone only has 500 spaces?

Surely they could have a visitor parking, like every other car show I've been to, and let people wonder about.
Maybe they have something else on, or just don't want to allocate any more spaces or maybe we just read the instructions and deal with it.

Booked into the 10.45 Novice session too, first time taking the Honda out bar a couple of very tentative touristfarten laps last year.

I didnt get a confirmation email from Silverstone though, is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm booked on 11.20am session so it seems there are still places left for those who haven't booked yet.

Regards the spaces, I could imagine the limit to the use of the space is to control various things : controlled area for safety and supervision. As others have said, being a free event we can't ask for too much

Think you've misread the part that you've quoted. Those going on track DO need to register. It's reiterated in the OP at the top of the page too.
Mornin' all

1. Did we get official confirmation of whether you need to be in he "500" if you have booked track times? I don't want to pay for a session and get turned away at the gate.

2. When are the safety briefings? Silverstone's booking page seems a little light.

3. Any confirmation on helmet hire?

Cheers

I was told by the folk at Silverstone that they would be in touch soon with more details for the track going folk.

Last time, the briefing was first thing in the morning about half hour before the first session. There was helmet hire at the sign in desk but they do emphasise that there are limited availability.

I was previously mistaken, you do still need to register on the calendar even though you book track time. However, the 500 cut off related to the car spaces for those viewing. There is a separate space in the paddock area for those who are going on track. So on that reckoning, the real cut off must be around 700.

I want to book track time but I'm still on the reserve list. If I go ahead and book track time can I still go on track if I don't make it into the 500 places.

just booked this one for husband in our Gallardo so you'll see him (PH - "never you mind") in the 11:55 session as well

Our first Sunday Service too...hopefully it won't be a problem that we have managed to book track time but low down on PH waiting list.
