Shame, I always thought that the G35 coupe was quite a looker; but this version definitely has an air of Lexus-esque unoffensive forgetability about it.

Off topic, have Hyundai given up pretending they're bringing the Genesis here yet?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............................. you sure?
According to WC?.com... I admit it does sound surprising, but that's what it said

Nah mate, this is infinitely less offensive to look at.

always quite fancied the older 350z bassed nissan 'skyline' badged versions of these. Looks as though the build quality has moved on with this.

As the owner of an Infiniti G37 convertible, I can tell you that they are VERY colour dependant. My Pearl White convertible has black leather interior and carbon black wheels and gets stared at everywhere I go. Partly as it's the only one I suppose, but also because it is striking! That dull grey of the long termer is almost invisible!
I'll bet that is a few weeks time, the seat belt retainer will drive you insane! Ask for the 2011 upgrade!

I had a G37 for a couple of weeks when a colleague left the country- the auto box kills it as a drivers car. I found it sluggish to kickdown and it hunted for the correct ratio when hustling it along twisty roads. With a manual box it might be a good car as the engine is a good 'un.

Interior quality isn't upto much but going by modern 'premium' cars I've been in recently none of them are anymore. A shameful state of affairs.

I quite like it. I would get one just to be different. BMW 3 Series and Audi A4s are good cars, but I don't care for damped grab handles and tailgating tongue out

Hang on a sec... I hear a lot of haters here but let's consider the facts! It shares it's knackers with a 370Z, it has a nicer interior than BMW or Audi rivals and it's tremendously more exclusive - what's not to like?

Admittedly, the shape is a bit old (thinking back to several years of seeing G35s on the US freeways) but if the A5 wasn't a new shape I doubt it would seem any more attractive than this. Nice car!

For me there's just no magic. When the only remarkable thing about a car is how ugly (and in this case i's a plain boring ugly)it is, it's not a good sign.

I wish I could like it but I can't.

They are far from a photogenic car, but look far better in the flesh.

Not doing it for me. For some reason Posh Jap cars just don't float my boat...

I like it... it's at least different to the run-of-the-mill German offerings, and judging by the amount of aged Lexuses (Lexi? Alan Partridge, please advise) it will probably last forever.

It's not going to be fast enough or green enough to sell many I would have thought.

It's a shame that they don't make a 400hp+ version (ideally with the same stealthy q-car looks), and if there were a 330d/335d-rivalling diesel version it would suit some company car types.

Not fast enough? It sits between a 330 and 335 performance wise I think. Goes to 60 in 5.5, and has enough grunt to keep it going at a decent rate of knots.

Yeah you're probably right, I suppose I was thinking of something nearer M3 pace with the stealthy looks.

The only thing I can think of currently available is the Mercedes E500 Coupe with the 5.5 V8, 388hp.

Me too, I think they really need to redesign that front grill on the infiniti range. It just does not look right with the rest of the car and looks boring. The back looks nice though. The grill looks so 90's.

As a used car purchase I'd buy this over the 335i/A5 etc.

They're quick even with the sluggish auto box. Mid-range is impressive.

I have to confess a liking for luxury Jap cars. On paper it looks good. Nothing wrong with German luxury but I applaud anyone who would dare to be different and get one of these.

Would I? It'd take a bit of thought but I could get over the fact it's basically a Nissan then yes, why not.
Are there any proper German luxury car brands? The only brands I can think of are premium brands.
maybach?

on a side note, no, audi, bmw and merc are not luxury brands. however, some of the cars they make are luxury cars....audi A8, merc S class and bmw 7 series. all very good at being luxurious. it's just they also make less luxurious cars. they just cater for more people than just those after luxury.
