Nice pic. They do look far better in the flesh. Got in interior shot?

I'd say a lot of potential buyers won't. As mentioned in the artical and this thread, badge snobs can't see past the roundel, star or four rings. But the owners, especially of used Infiniti's will be laughing all the way to the bank when it comes to not having pay for costly repairs that BMW's etc require outside warranty. There's no doubt in my judgement the G37S is a wiser buy especially as a used motor and not a turbo insight.

As the owner of an Infiniti G37 convertible, I can tell you that they are VERY colour dependant. My Pearl White convertible has black leather interior and carbon black wheels and gets stared at everywhere I go. Partly as it's the only one I suppose, but also because it is striking! That dull grey of the long termer is almost invisible!
I'll bet that is a few weeks time, the seat belt retainer will drive you insane! Ask for the 2011 upgrade!
True! I'm the other bloke who bought one (ex-demo coupe / convertible from Infiniti Reading) and mine is in "Vibrant red" with a black / aluminium interior and I really like the way it looks and have only received very complimentary comments (so far, anyway), the grey of the PH car doesn't really do it justice. Having said that, I get that it's not something that's going to be universally admired, whatever the colour - it's no style icon - but it also fits the bill for what I want from a car at the moment: It's pretty smooth and quiet when you want it to be but it can gather pace quite convincingly; it's reasonably practical, seating 4 adults at a push and economy is OK. It has well proven mechanicals which mean it should remain reliable and on my drive, not back at the dealer. The boot is a decent size except for when the roof is in it (a lot of the time!). I'm not trying to convince anyone to go out and buy one, mostly because I also like its' comapartive rarity without going for something too "bespoke" with attendant prices and costs, but if you're in the market for this kind of car, have a look and a drive before you dismiss it - like me, you might be pleasantly surprised!

PS Riggers, can you get Garlick to include "Infiniti" in the drop-down list in "my garage" - he's ignored my requests?

Just put it in as Nissan Skyline 370GT. That's another thing. Folks don't like the fact they are Skylines! hehe

Got to say I'm a fan of the Infiniti look. IMO the FX is one of the best-looking 4x4s on the market...

My decision making process was.......... replace CLK with E convertible? Not a chance after truly atrocious customer service. BMW 3? Default choice for every Tom, Dick and Tracy, so no thanks. Saab? You have to be kidding. Audi............. they left me standing in the showroom for 30 mins without so much as a "Can I help you?" so no thanks again. Having been treated VERY well by the new dealer for Infiniti and being given a loan car for 48 hours to make up my mind, I said YES PLEASE!

For most intents and purposes taking on this G37 as PH car is pointless.
As displayed in this thread people will dismiss it right away just because it isn't german. It won't matter if the car is good or bad. It doesn't have a badge they can flash in the pub so it's not worth much to them.

You won't convince anyone. Ppl will keep saying how dull it is, how awful the interior is, how it's not faster that this or that buy 99% of them won't even go to the dealership to have a look at one.

Let's face it, good or bad jap cars are for those who have enough imagination to go beyond Germany. The rest will not be convinced whatever you do.
Would quite happily look at a Vel Satis so don't think I am a badge snob.
Just think it's a bit dull. Different strokes and all that. Have to say that the white and red cars look much better - maybe you need to see them in the flesh.

Too many superficial "looks like..." comments going down here.

The car is technically interesting, being one of the few cars with active four-wheel steering, a variab;e-valve timing system (with a worrying anount of mechanical inertia)and many other felicitations.

Unlike most of its rivals, which are all mostlt all boredom & vapid pretentiousness.

As I said earlier, also available with ATESSA-ETS AWD system found in previous skylines in some guise or another. RWD most of the time, until you need it.

As requested, my white G37 convertible. Couple of other points...... yes the auto box does hunt a bit (even the 7 speed) but you can flick to paddle operation easily. Also the "infotainment" system does NOT require you to stretch across the dash. There are steering wheel controls AND voice activation! Go drive one.
Looks like these are starting to get to more obtainable prices now. Are these black wheels and grill standard? They really make the car IMHO.
