how about chatting to your passenger whilst picking your nose, or smoking a faaag, or scratching your balls, etc etc
Really?
yes really, talking on the phone probably isn't ideal, but it's just the same as lots of other things that people do all day long
Like texting?

So the 3rd link down titled 'Dress your age : 40's' http://uk.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip_600/615b_d...

"You might be worried about dressing too young, but in an effort to toss away your tumultuous youth, any sense of cool has been kicked to the curb with it. There’s nothing wrong with the occasional T-shirt, and no, you don’t have to ditch your jeans in favour of frumpy khakis either. Just make sure they’re dark-washed and slim cut -- not some pair of high-waisted dowdy dad jeans."

Start worrying about how other people look when you can use the correct English word i.e. kerb.

Sorry but it irritates me and is becoming the norm.

Narrowly beat me to it.

Does this make the statement and source inadmissible? As a 39 year-old habitual t-shirt wearer, it seems like I need to know.

Cheers, Jim

People have been using curb when they mean kerb since 1791 apparently so I wouldn't get too hung up on it.

Because the increase in safety is not greater than the effort it takes to clear the snow off.
It's a fine and 6 points now isn't it (leaving snow on the car)?

which roughly equates to my stance on the subject, I just wanted to inject some balance. I didn't write the internet. Now I'm off to kill myself, but at least I will look stylish when they find me smile

ETA the smiley in case you thought I care more about the subject than I do smile

Driving Without Reasonable Consideration of other road users CD20, three to nine points and up to a £1,000 fine.

Driving Without Due Care and Attention or withour Reasonable Consideration of other road users CD30, three to nine points and up to £1,000 fine.

If you wanted to be pedantic... CU50 Causing or likely to cause danger by reason of load or passengers three points. wink

Back home in Canada it's a $300 fine for snow covering your roof and $50 per window and/or light. If you get enough snow over here it's only a matter of time before the Law catches up on this potential revenue stream. cop

So all related to the snow falling off rather than reduced visibility?

The muppet & his other half in the Astra on The Meadows r/bout this afternoon. Not sure why you called me / my mother a & why your other half decided to give me the beans & fingers salute seeing as it was you that cut in front of our car as you were in the wrong lane not ua rolleyes

Also the idiot in the Audi A1 who tailgated us down the A331 from Aldershot to Frimley flashing your lights expecting us to move over from the right hand lane even though we were overtaking the slower cars in the left hand lane. I guess you also failed to see the rather brightly marked Police car that was the car directly in front of us in the right hand rolleyes

ETA - The E36 shape 3 series that was attempting a u-turn on the A30 around lunchtime bringing traffic to a halt - i guess it was because they'd seen the Police ANPR van in the entrance of Sandhurst and had some reason to not want to pass it. Sadly i think their u-turn gained more attention than they wanted it to laugh

What dont tell avon and somerset police that none of them can be bothered. When I complained on twitter got told this "windows and lights are clear". Not only that he was tailgating like a pro! By the time I got the photo 3 lots of snow had fallen off!

Really? Are people really that easily wound up nowadays to use the Police Twitter feed to complain & submit photos about snow on a patrol car?

I'm surprised the Police didn't ask about your driving in return hehe

How many points & what fine do you get for using your mobile to take pics whilst driving nowadays hehegetmecoat

It depends on on your mindset, if your the havent you got anything better to do.

There is a reason why you are suppose to clear the snow from your vehicle and I would expect a police officer to set an example but it is a matter of opinion.

My passenger took the photo and if you note the following distance is more than acceptable. I constantly look to improve my driving but I am not without sin, however I do bother to clear snow from my vehicle.

Every idiot who uses the right-turn only lane leading up to the Longford roundabout in Gloucester to try and jump the usually small queue of traffic in the left lane during rush hour. Then as they get near to the roundabout they force their way in to the left lane which in turn forces the queue of traffic behind to stop and build up. Occasionally you'll get one who thinks if they keep rolling they can outgun the person in the correct lane to the other side of the roundabout only to discover there is stopped traffic on the A40 which is backed up on to the roundabout.

Prime example next to me on the way home today. He was that adamant that he would save so much of the time during his evening by being in front of me for 2 minutes in a queue of traffic, on the other side of the roundabout he actually drove up the middle of the road next to me with traffic coming the other way instead of slowing down and slotting in behind me, even though I exited the roundabout before him. At that point I decided he was completely off his trolley and let him in front.
