I'm an HGV driver, I block the lanes to stop people pushing in, the only people who seem to dislike this are the ones pushing in, not the majority who are waiting their turn. do i care about the views of those pushing in? nope wavey

To paraphrase Bernie Ecclestone, maybe if you weren't so stupid you'd be driving a Mercedes instead of an HGV.

Anyway, obvious troll is obvious.

Obvious troll is obvious. [Edit: Snap!]

It's always funny when trafpol bikes nip past a blocking HGV, stop in front of him, and point out the GIANT fkING SIGNS saying 'MERGE IN TURN'. About the only time I've derived any enjoyment from travelling through the M9/Forth Bridge roadworks.

Hi. Road works traffic management designer here. We put the merge points where they are for a reason. They are sited, usually, to allow the greatest visibility to approaching traffic, and on major roads are sited away from junctions, laybys and other "event sections". They also allow the greatest capacity when traffic builds up and queues form. The road is open - and available - right up until the first cone. Used properly, regulated flows can happen and - whilst not fast - throughput can be increased.

People (trucks or otherwise) blocking lanes make the queues worse - that is proven both through computer modelling, and in practice. Please use all the available lanes and merge in turn. It works out quicker for everyone. And (H+S hat on) its safer for other road users.

It was noticeable how much better traffic flowed after everyone had seen these tossers being thoroughly checked at a leisurely pace by Fife's Finest... smile

Seriously mate if you do really belive this is right and you are not just on a wind up then you are monumentally stupid, how would you argue with the BiB if as someone pointed out they approached you to instruct you about just how wrong you are?

People like you (if you aren't just trolling) are the sort who end up with a very bruised top lip and an enormously crushed ego.

So run along, take your silly "I'm hard, me" waveys and smileys and leave the proper driving to the proper drivers.

And HGV drivers wonder why they're hated! Often because, like this plonker, they have no idea how the road really works.

I always find it funny when approaching lane closures in heavy traffic that the peculiarly British habit of queuing appears. Recently I passed a line of traffic approximately 1600 yards long, past 800 yards of lane closure/merge signs and into the traffic at a sensible point. Do I think thats a 'tt' thing to do? No, it's just making the best use of the road.

I suppose some people might find it upsetting, but they wouldn't if they applied their brain to their drive.

I drove a freeway in the US and there was a merge sign and a picture of a zip. People, on that occasion anyway, took alternate turns to merge and we passed through quite quickly.

UK motorway & road discipline is rubbish.

The same person will complain 'bloody Police should go and solve some real crimes'.

No, sorry, too busy dealing with idiots reporting a truck driver being a bit of an idiot.

People that put one finger on one of their nostrils and then procede to very loudly empty the contents of their other nostril all over the place.... They normaly have 'lazy speach' neck tatoo's, drive Subaru's and have some how managed so sell enough weed to get membership at my local David Lloyd. So now i have to listen to it in the showers every morning.

'Knob' isn’t actually the first word that springs to mind, however I don’t think there is a thread entitled: One thing that make you think "C@#T"
