Yesterday evening was a corker for morons on the road. Each one of these cretins made me think "knob". 1) Bint in A6 estate right up my backside on the motorway. I was in lane 2 doing about 120km/h overtaking a load of trucks. Lane 3 was empty but instead of overtaking me, bint just tries to drive into my boot. I tap brakes, she f ks off a bit but still doesn't overtake. Finally lane 1 is clear of trucks, I pull into it and she boots it past. Just overtake me in lane 3 - knob! 2) The artic driver who expected me to jump out of his way as soon as he indicated to change lane. Look first FFS - I don't have anywhere to go as there are people in lane 3! He got a handful of horn (heh), my brake pedal got a bootful and the truck quickly jumped back to where he was in the first place. Knob! 3) The thrusting middle manager type in his Audi Q3 who so cleverly didn't indicate (or seemingly even bother LOOKING) when changing lanes, twice, both times causing me to dive on the anchors or swerve to avoid. The second time he did it he was diving into a parking space at the side of the road, so coming to a total stop. I eyed him as I passed, he looked completely clueless. How f king difficult is it to move your finger 1cm up or down and use the f king indicators?!! KNOB! 4) The two cyclists travelling along a small but busy road, side by f king side. It was so obvious that there were cars coming towards them on the opposite side of the road AND cars queuing up behind them. Pair of .... KNOBS. This was all in a single journey yesterday, we were on the road for about an hour in total - there were more smaller incidents which I didn't bother to remember. (cough... including the boot of my car opening by itself, I blame Mrs as she was the last one to [not] close it!). The knobs were out in force yesterday, I was glad to get back home in one piece!!

Sadly, people who don't care about cars just don't care about cars - they (a) wouldn't notice, (b) wouldn't care and (c) would see it as justification next time they're parked too close to someone. I forgot to also nominate the dick in a 4x4 towing a caravan on the M1 northbound shortly after the previous incident. Here's a hint - the best way to rejoin from the hard shoulder is to use the miles and miles of empty tarmac there to get up to speed, *NOT* to sit there at zero mph with your right hand indicator on waiting for the rest of humanity to pull out and give you a gap big enough to accelerate into from a standstill.

masermartin said: suff about gettign a door ding in his P&J I've been covering a different centre this week at work, this one is an open car park instead of the barrier system my normal one runs. We have a children’s football academy using us meaning parents and kids are coming and going every half hour. Popped out to my car to fetch something yesterday evening and spotted a nice inch and a half long scuff down the rear quarter of my car, left by what looks like a red coloured 4x4 given the height of it on my panel! looks like one of the dings where they just swing the door open without giving a s t!! Luckily it doesn’t appear to have dented the panel. I know it was done down here this week as I washed it last weekend and there certainly wasn’t any mark then. Yes it is only a Focus with 130+k on the clock and faults here and there. But its still my car and I do my best to care for it, even to the point of not dinging others in carparks. The amount I’ve picked up on it in the last year is just unacceptable. Christ sakes, it’s been through 4 WRC Wales Rallies and not picked up anything other than a lost mudflap. Yet it cant survive 30mins in a carpark!!

My flat is a bit tatty, a bit rough around the edges and probably doesn't get hoovered as often as it should. But I wouldn't take kindly to someone coming round and smashing one of my picture frames, then saying "oh well, it's only an old thing anyway." Something about cars and carparks turns certain people into defensive, offensive w kers.

My contribution to the "knobs" thread - the MINI driver from Stroud to Cheltenham last night who: - Did 45mph down the NSL sections of an A-road which is too twisty to overtake on. - Did 45mph through the 30mph sections of the same road - Nearly ran a red light in Painswick before throwing on the anchors at the last minute - Stuck the rear foglight on for no reason whatsoever - I assumed it might have been a misguided display of retaliation at having me stuck to their jacksie, but it stayed on for the next 10 miles, so presume it was just turned on in error. - Sped up to 55-60 on the twistiest section of the road but panicked and threw on the anchors down to 20mph around a tight bend. - Carried on at 55mph through the 40mph sections into Cheltenham. Typical display of s t, inattentive, inconsiderate driving by someone who doubtless has no idea whatsoever that they did anything wrong.

Driving standards are certainly better over here in Deutschland but of course you find cretins wherever you go. We're off to France by road in a few days, there is usually fine as the roads are mostly deserted (p.s., hope you're well, MGJohn, it's been a while )

Had someone almost take my front wing off on the M40 the other day by doing a ridiculously aggressive, spatially-unaware lane change after overtaking me despite there being nothing behind him and an empty carriageway in front.
Can't recall the last time I did a journey of any decent length without witnessing at least one genuinely dangerous manoeuvre. It's a bit depressing.

One of my favourite roads and I can see it from my bedroom window. I love driving it in either direction. Above all, I like riding a nice handling lightweight sports bike as those bends a few miles out of Painswick towards Cheltenham are a delight on two or four wheels......when nobody else is about.... When held up by someone chosing to travel slower than I, if traffic conditions allow, I can get quickly past as I know it so well. The bit past the "Devil's Elbow" in either direction is my favourite. Failing getting by safely, I sometimes pull over and let those chosing to travel slower than I to get a mile or so away so that I can better enjoy the traffic free run. Well, helps to pass the time.... .

People who apparently don't understand what a No Entry sign means. And the knobs who follow other knobs through the no entry junction and then beep and shout at me to move. Even though it's a one way system, in my direction!! But hats off to the guy who after reversing back out, then sat there screaming at me through his window. I decided to see what his issue was- Him - incoherent babbling and foul language Me - you do realise its a one way system?! Him - no it fuking isn't! Me - it f king is! Look at that sign to your left, ohh and the words no entry painted on the road under my car! Him - f k off! It never used to be! Me - it wasn't about 3 years ago, no. I drove off and watched him still drive up the one way system the wrong way Look you 1series diesel m sport ac schnitzer alpina ( or whatever these owners are calling themselves to hide the fact its a basic spec 1series in recession white) knob, I know it's Friday morning and I'm as eager as you to get the week done with, but open your f king eyes once in a while! * the road has probably been a one way system for longer, my mate has lived on that road for about 3 years and it was a one way system when he moved in. This was at 7:20 this morning. I hope it's just an end of the week knob and not one that carries over to the weekend!

The woman who reversed into a car outside the pub I visited at lunch.
Wasn't going to stop, when we went over she started blaming the other car owner for not parking further in the space. It was right against the wall.
She said her car had no damage and didn't see the problem as her car was more expensive than the one she hit.
Mate wrote note for car owner while she was there which she ripped up after getting out the car and grabbing it.
Police happened to drive by and see what happened. We left her to it.
Turns out she was 3.14 with a Yale and well known to them...fooled me as she actually spoke quite well.
Job, jobbed.

The tit in the Audi dudey behind me at the Dartford tunnel barrier who felt the need to keep sounding his horn because I had to get out of my LHD M3 to go pay the toll, thus costing an extra few seconds journey time. Having queued behind me for 20 minutes one might have thought he'd have considered that he might get held up for a few moments?

MGJohn said: Recorded crime figures are misleading too. Most folks I speak to in recent years who have been 'victims' be it as a result of theft, assault or what have you, do not bother to report them now because when they've done so in the past, they have been disappointed with the whole process so no longer want to waste further time. This has also been the case within my own family. Even when CCTV evidence was available the Police found reasons to do nowt! Exactly my experience. Bike stolen, everything given to the police, including the ebay advert it was being sold on, CCTV of the thief, everything. Needless to say they didn't give a s t, f ked everything up and the bike was gone. Will not be relying on them in the future, wouldn't have been hard to get the bike back ourselves, totally useless going through the police system.

The takeaway delivery drvier that stopped his car in the middle of the street I live on. Cars are double parked and you can just get one car between them (very narrow) instead of driving the extra 3metres to park against the kerb with the other cars, he took his keys out and left his car parked in the middle of the road. Absolute nob.
Taxi drivers do it frequently, I've had a couple stop in the middle of the road, next to an empty spot they could have driven into!
