Oh dear, I think that describes me on Monday morning... in the wife's Zafira... However I'm glad I did give it the beans (such as they are in a 1.6 Zafira) away from one set of lights as a Rover cut into the bit of road I'd just left as he was in the wrong lane...

Not so. A lot of dealers know gash all. Depends on what type of place it is.

Would it be OK if I used the 911 instead then?
It would certainly be appreciated if you could, then everybody would immediately know what kind of driving to expect smile

Drivers who drive the same route very day on NSL single carriage ways well below the limit with a train of cars behind them and hinder and flash anone who tries to overtake.

Yes, you, the knob in the L Reg MX5 on the B6047 towards Ashby Folveille. shoot

And you, the green R reg Peugeot 306 on the same road each evening. shoot It is not clever to dawdle along and accelerate when someone commences and overtake.

Sorry, I meant to add some sarcasm to my first comment.

Don't you know you automatically absorb all information that any family member knows about anything ever?

ah you don't have to, as soon as one person does something, it is written into their genes and is then passed down, of course. Oh this also works even if there is no direct bloodline such as with uncles and cousins.

More me wording it like a tard. Posting on here at work ends up with messages written over time whenever the boss disappears out of the office so often end up broken up...

Ultimately, those that are caught up by HGVs on NSL roads and those that cruise at 40 whatever the limit are knobs and what make my drive frustrating - and the council for changing the timing of the lights in Baldock.
Is the road in question the A507 from Buntingford? I do understand people getting frustrated by the HGVs, they are forced to go very slow for large sections of it, But it doesn't excuse some of the 'interesting' overtakes some people engage in.
That's the one - although I have for years thought it was the B507 but evidently wrong :S

Glorious when it's clear. But if you are stuck behind a HGV you won't lose much time and every tractor I have encountered has pulled over - but some people just seem unable to sit back and relax.

After all I said yesterday I watched a van driver nearly kill himself (twice!) and with an abandoned overtake in between too. Sat so close to the car in front he had to slow down to give himself space to pull out and overtake, in this time he mustn't have seen the oncoming car from behind the lorry up ahead and when he went past the lorry the lorry had to put the anchors on to let him in.

By the time he got past the car and lorry in front of him we were just getting into Baldock. Lorry and car turned left at the first roundabout and I ended up back behind the van waiting at the traffic lights.

People that fit HID headlights to their cars but opt for the brightest one's possible whilst being more interested in how their car appears to other road users, than how much more they can see at night. Nor do they realise just how dangerous it is to dazzle oncoming traffic or, if they do, they simply do not care!

I second that. From a functional point of view, if you couldn't see well enough to drive with old type headlights then you shouldn't be driving, not fitting HID lights.
Change/progress for cosmetic purposes only. So many times I've been dazzled by these things.

The red Audi A3 on the A10 this morning.

I was travelling at about 90% of the speed where I feel comfortable cruising on a two lane dual carriageway - letting the cruise control set the pace. I'm in L1, he is in L2 (no cars to overtake other than me, so he shouldn't have been there but hey ho).
He is very slowly gaining on me but there is a slower car ahead of me in L1, so I indicate, accelerate (so as not to impede the A3 in any way), move out into L2. I'm now at 100% of my comfort pace (and decently faster than the A3).
Yet there he is, gaining on me again (from a little further back) - he has accelerated to be just faster than me once he realised I was pulling away.
Fine, I will let him past - this isn't a race or a competition, I just want to make smooth progress. I pull back into L1 after I pass the slower car and slow to the previous pace (CC on).
The A3 sits there in L2 a couple of car lengths back and slows to my pace again. WTF?
Another slower car in L1 so I repeat - accelerate to 100%, pass, back into L1 and reduce speed. The Audi matches my speed the whole time (other than being unable to accelerate as hard) and never moves from L2.
Repeat a few more times as I encounter slower cars. Eventually I peel off and lose him.

Why do people do this? Either pass me or, if you're trying to maintain a steady speed, then don't accelerate to match mine. And pull in out of L2 occasionally.

If you were in the Aston he was probably looking at your car not being a knob.

A3 with active cruise control? Is that an option on an A3?

It's not just the brightest type, but the highest K rating, ironically showing the owner to be on the opposite scale of brightness.

12000K is not brighter then 5 or 6000K, infact there is less light, which make the higher rating ones UV/purple and useless unless all you'd be interested in spotted a dynorod van at 30 miles.

Yes, was the Aston but why try and sit in the outside lane? Surely pull in behind once in a while or get ahead and look in the mirror then drop speed so I overtake

Deffo not ACC, as he'd have steamed by whenever I pulled over.
