RE: Zagato-Penned Perana Z-one In Production
Discussion
Got a response from Superformance:
"Lee,
Thank you very much for your interest in new limited production Zagato Perana Z-One’s. This car is limited to 99 units per year with 29 left for the 2011 build year. I have attached the latest brochure, the build/price sheet, along with your two choices of power plants.
The current wait time is approx 6 months from date of deposit.
Please feel free to call/email me at any time if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

The mail came with three attachments outlining the presspack, basic car cost ($80K) and cost to have engine/ gearbox installed ($20K for LS3). So, about $100K + taxes. Not so much of a bargain which is a shame. I was guessing at about $75K.

emember American's have always assumed £1 = $1 when it comes to cars.... even when there was $3/£ IIRC

I'm not an American. And the original article said 50K Euro which is $70K. The US dealers price will be $115K once you add taxes, and thats without options. So, I'll wait till 2012 and see how it pans out.J

It was a joke.Releases in late 2008 said "A price of 50,000 euros minus taxes" for the base car. At that time the € was at 1.30 to the £, it is now 1.15. €/$ as you may know has moved even more.
£70k is with a significant number of options, and includes VAT at 20%.
Ergo, it is still exactly what it said. In "today's price", €50k without taxes is (€50000 * 1.3 / 1.15 * 1.2 ) = £67,826

Aha. It was early in the morning and I'd just been subjected to Houston traffic for 45 mins so my brain was mush.Releases in late 2008 said "A price of 50,000 euros minus taxes" for the base car. At that time the € was at 1.30 to the £, it is now 1.15. €/$ as you may know has moved even more.

Am I right in thinking you have one on order? I'm not much of an early adopter so I'll read your feedback with great interest
