Fair Play to him. Look out for a Saab Estate on your way to LeMans and get out of its way.

They made an Aero, not exactly M or RS speed but pretty quick.
And a 2.8 V6 turbo, AWD (with Haldex rear eLSD offering torque vectoring capability) 'Turbo X' - thereby closely following and in some ways improving on the Audi 'S' concept. Sadly testers found that however impressive in raw numbers, it failed to engage the driver...

Absolutely fantastic!!! God help him if a coil pack or spark plug goes on the two rear cylinders though!

I'm with the "make it look standard" Q car route. Imagine a barbie pink open top Micra bodyshell, then upset some supercar owners smile

Looove the video.

9.12 out of 10, yep I'd go along with that. Love these projects and this one makes a nice change. Yep, dump the decals, add a normal paint job, reduce the wheel size and it would 10/10 from me.

Absolutely love it! Can't way to get home and get the gas axe out on the Mrs's diesel now.

Of course the Swedes are all as mad as a box of frogs because of the lack of light most of the year, keep it up I say!

Doesn't it share its original underpinnings with a Cavalier?

Oh, here we go again!!!

"Like its predecessor, the new 9-3 shares platform with Opel Vectra. GM calls this global platform as Epsilon, which will also give birth to the next Saturn L-series, Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac Grand Am and Opel Signum. Compare with the old platform, Epsilon is much more sophisticated and by no means a cheap design. First of all, it has a very rigid chassis, with a torsional rigidity of 20,000Nm/degree, even surpassing the already remarkable Vectra. A hydroformed subframe is employed to mount the engine and suspensions, improving chassis strength while reducing NVH. The Epsilon also has good suspensions, with MacPherson struts up front and multi-link at the rear. This compare favourably with the semi-trailing arm setup of the old 9-3. Moreover, the rear suspensions are also mounted on subframe to reduce noise and harshness.

Saab emphasis that it took part in the development of Epsilon from the very beginning, therefore the 9-3 chassis is tailor-made rather than adapted from Vectra’s. In fact, the 9-3 is longer, narrower and whose wheelbase is 25mm shorter than the Vectra. Its steering employs conventional hydraulic assistance instead of the electro-hydraulic type of the Vectra as an attempt to improve steering feel. Its suspensions are tuned to be stiff laterally and soft vertically, this should improves motorway ride while ensuring good handling in twisty roads"

Nope, that was the old-gen 9-3 which was a reworked GM-era 900...

Forget the boring colour and wheels, even as it is no one in their right mind who expect that to go like it does/will.

Anyway even as a Q car how are you going to hide the noise cause it would be criminal to silence it.

My old man has a new Carlsson, which is basically a Turbo X with massive wheels and all the options ticked. Whilst it is probably one of the fastest things I've ever driven, it just feels all wierd. Comfy yes, engaging no. Pretty rare mind.
