RE: The Saab With The Viper V10
Discussion
Being a Swede (but no turnip..) I really enjoyed reading that build thread.
To clarify a couple of point possibly lost in translation, the car WILL get a 'proper' paint job, it currently sports black primer applied in a hurry for the 'Elmia Car Show' in Sweden. Also, it will sit a couple of cm higher when finished.
Cooling, exhaust and wiring still to do.
Brilliant car!

Very cool - however, in which way are the original Saab underpinnings more 'ancient' than that of the dinosaur of sports cars?
Doesn't it share its original underpinnings with a Cavalier?Whatever, that looks amazing but I'd also be tempted to raise it a bit, put on stock/steelies and drive around looking like a retired fighter pilot

He's right as far as the NG900/OG9-3 is concerned though, back then they made a song and dance of it being based on the Calibra floorpan rather than the Cavalier/Opel Vectra one... not sure what the differences are tho'.They did say they made it 40% stiffer, anyway.
None of which, of course, has to do with the 9-3 Sport Estate that lent its body to the vehicle we're discussing here...
In recent times i have strongly disliked what seems to be the only car saab make (9-3), but i am a viper fan and i have fallen in love with this car and engine combo, i also think that the matte black looks fantastic, even though it sticks out like a sore thumb, if it was silver or black nobody would give it a second glance (until you put your foot down of course)
