stick it on 16" steelies - remove all decals, paint it in a boring colour and badge it as a 1.9 diesel. Perfect q car.
Unless you have your window down. LOL.

That is beyond cool!

The workmanship that must have gone into that is beyond belief! Kudos to that man what an incredibly silly car.

I LOVE IT!

That's seriously impressive. Amazing metalworking skills on display there, and to effectively build a chassis around a trivetrain and have the car come out looking as coherant as it does! Top work!

My ultimate A-Car sleeper estate.

Being a Swede (but no turnip..) I really enjoyed reading that build thread.
To clarify a couple of point possibly lost in translation, the car WILL get a 'proper' paint job, it currently sports black primer applied in a hurry for the 'Elmia Car Show' in Sweden. Also, it will sit a couple of cm higher when finished.
Cooling, exhaust and wiring still to do.
Brilliant car!

Very cool - however, in which way are the original Saab underpinnings more 'ancient' than that of the dinosaur of sports cars? wink
Doesn't it share its original underpinnings with a Cavalier?
Once upon a time, 9-3's were actually Calibra's - which were, in turn, Cavalier (Vectra A) 4x4s (apparently quite different to regular Cav/Vecs) - but I'd assumed they'd updated that ste by now!?!?

Whatever, that looks amazing but I'd also be tempted to raise it a bit, put on stock/steelies and drive around looking like a retired fighter pilot smile

Great car, it'd be great to see the expression on wide boys faces when you stun them at the lights.

From the action in that vid I'd say his mum must have had a painful child birth, cause he looks like he came out the womb going sideways!

He's right as far as the NG900/OG9-3 is concerned though, back then they made a song and dance of it being based on the Calibra floorpan rather than the Cavalier/Opel Vectra one... not sure what the differences are tho'.

They did say they made it 40% stiffer, anyway. wink

None of which, of course, has to do with the 9-3 Sport Estate that lent its body to the vehicle we're discussing here...

In recent times i have strongly disliked what seems to be the only car saab make (9-3), but i am a viper fan and i have fallen in love with this car and engine combo, i also think that the matte black looks fantastic, even though it sticks out like a sore thumb, if it was silver or black nobody would give it a second glance (until you put your foot down of course)

You don't think he ran over the dog in all that smoke do you, I thought I heard a whelp at one point?

The wheel arches seem to small so it looks a bit Max Power, rest of it looks proper job.

Is it quoting just bits of what people say which drives you to flagrant self-abuse?

I know that works with Nigella's cooking programmes but if my posts float your boat then ROCK ON! smile
