I quite like the photos - they look like 'real' camera effects rather than Photoshop. The headline picture is a long exposure roadside shot - but how was the car lit?
I'm willing to bet that those pics have somewhat, been fiddled with.

eh? Why be so hostile and rude about someones car? confused

And I reckon a trip to the eye clinic might be in order if you think it looks awful.

The Spectre was one of my fave cars when growing up in the 90s. I had a wall poster I got from the London motorshow in 93.

Hello Mark - sorry for not getting back to you and yes it's fine to use the pics for this smile

To those asking I shot the photos one cold night back in December using long exposures and light painting, so a constant light that's moved around the car. Very little photoshop, occasional layers that's about it. More light painted cars here if you're interested.

For the smoke pic, being so cold at one point we needed to leave the car running to demist it (as visible from the headlights) and lit the vapour from behind whilst waiting.

Must say in the, er, metal the car looks striking for all the right reasons.

Did Spectre also make GT40 replicas?

I always had the impression the R45 was a 'reimagineered' GT40...

Interesting car, better looking than some limited production cars that have a long run.

No your right I meant no ill, but it's not pretty.

Fair play for having something different though.

I dunno is GTD and Spectre the same company?
At the beginning the car was offered as GTD (GT Development) R-42
based on longer GT40 Frame.
GTD is /was known for Cobra and GT40 MKI kits.
Later was the Car known as Spectre.
In Germany was the Price for the car with 320 HP 165000 Deutsch Mark
@ Britcar Importer Lutz Leberfinger.(A New Esprit V8 was 200000 DM Cheaper)
I have seen few years ago the yellow Car here as Pistonheads advert.
i think for 50-60 thousand BP.
And three R42 in green and silver as package for the same price.
And yes,the car was a moviestar in the Bad Action Movie "RPM" with David Arquette about a bad constructed sportscar
with a new enginetechnology.

11/10 to the owner but I suppose I am biased.

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-new-cars/Searc...

Perhaps your car will have a direct genetic link to the reborn Pantera, you may just be sitting on an even more interesting piece of history it would seem?

This type of thing often gets lost on people “looks like a kit car” “should have bought a Porsche” “don’t like the look of it” but then it’s nothing to do with anything like that, this type of project is purely and simply because you can and that somebody needs to go out on a limb to keep something like this alive

Would love to see this car in the flesh and even more so actually have a drive, if the owner fancies a whizz in another hybrid feel free to drop me an email

Excellent work, truly excellent

To me it looks like a 911 front end,
Not bad but I would have mistaken it for a Porsche of some description if I'd seen it on the road,
It would be nice to know a bit more about the specification of the car and also the other vehicle mentioned at the beginning of the article,

The wheels are proportioned more like exotics from 15 years ago, i.e. smaller than today's stuff.
