I had a slight peek at 318iS this week. It's been for sale for a while. One of the rear arches wasn't rusty, can't vouch for the other as didn't want to appear too keen. The interior of this SOTW looked much better than the one I looked at. It was dark with patterned cloth bits that just looked a bit like that seen on something Japanese and it didn't have a sunroof which is good with me.
I had that interior in mine. Bit boring isn't it?

So, has it been proved yet the white is black, or is he just digging a bigger hole?

Should do - coupes and tourings do, saloons can if the option was ticked ( but not standard on saloon )

rofl Credible as ever, I'm poor now then? hehe Your Transit must have been a symbol of true prestige.

I didn't buy my car for the badge, I bought it because it's a damn good car.

imho of course.. wink
Not familiar with the term? Its most often used toward porsche 944's, that should give you a clue. But who buys a transit as a cheap manhood extender?

Yes so good infact that the BMW 130i M racing at castle coombe today lapped some 29 seconds slower than a 106gti, vauxhall astra, 206gti, MG zr and a fiesta, not only finishing bottom of its class but being overtaken by cars from the class below... And thats not only a BMW, but an 'M' and RWD.... Driver mustv been some special kind of st for the '50/50' balance and 'RWD handling supremicy' to be null and void at the hands of such heavyweights as a fiestas and rover 25s.

BMW contested the BTCC since the 1970s and was a prolific winner, particularly during the early years of the championship’s 2-litre era. Its M3 model won the experimental 2-litre class in 1990 in the hands of Frank Sytner and the Prodrive team. In 1991, with the BTCC exclusively for 2-litre machinery, the M3 won the title outright with Will Hoy and privateer VLR team. VLR became a factory BMW team for 1992, switching to the Munich marque’s 318 model. Tim Harvey drove it to title success while, in 1993, it was the turn of BMW’s internationally-acclaimed Bavarian team Schnitzer to do the winning, with the spectacular German driver Jo Winkelhock. Ex-Formula 1 drivers David Brabham and Johnny Cecotto would drive the factory cars in 1995 before Winkelhock returned for the manufacturer’s swansong year in 1996.

But RWD = automatic victory to you's surely?
Wouldn't suprise if it was you two who wrote into EVO saying you'd rather drive a 116d than a 182!

Its something thats getting alot of media attention, so if anything is discovered about them and i'm not claiming there will be, perhaps stuff like what i posted will be able to answer some questions. Imagine if its the next Y2K I could make a few quid from grainy footage of contrails.

Peugeot were appauling, but Renault have done better than Audi, Alfa, Mazda, MG, Nissan, etc...

BMW are crap at rallying wink

No not at all!

My brother drives a 1998 Toyota celica ss3 beams, rapid machine and the handling is really good for FWD.

My friends Honda civics and Honda integras also have amazing grip for FWD.

Loads of great handling FWD cars out there so I'm far from anti Fwd I just prefer RWD,more potential to have some tail happy fun...smile

I'd love to take a 182 for a drive, been reading loads of good reports about them but if i had to own either one long term it would have to be the beemer.

cheeky remap would have it up to 170-180bhp....smilesmile

They say the 172s and 172 cups you could take to a track day rag it competitivly and drive her home feeling no differant to when you set off. I've had a few drives of one on at an airfield and even with no previous experience then i was able to be 2-3 seconds close to other peoples first laps.

It is good for that my mate has and has had a few skylines his old r32 was a rwd jobby dyno'd at 320brake (it wouldnt hold boost, the turbo was an ex race item) but that'd get the rear out a beuty he could drift roundabouts as many times as he liked funny stuff, his current import a GTS-T i think it is, slides like a mutha' when it comes on boost even in 4th and 5th it'll kick out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_phx3W3dx54&fea... his current one just dicking about

oh and the acceleration of it, dubious quality but the way the needle snaps up when he gets going is addictive

So I bought it as a manhood extender now? hehe

And of course, maybe it was one of these mysterious drivers who managed to spin a 316 or a 328 out, you seem to know of so many of them. rolleyes

Anyway it is pointless trying to reason with an anti-BMW troll, have fun with your beemer bashing. smile

No doubt in your hands even the lowliest 316 would have been lapping the radicals.

This is what you want for a red interior, sport half leather, in a 328 Sport I once owned.

I have run a 318is for just over three years. Its a good car, not the fastest on the road, but it's a good solid reliable car which hasn't cost me much to run since I bought it.

Just the usual stuff that goes wrong with a car built back in 1998. It's got approx 104k miles on the clock & it & it goes like a train although it did cost me £107 in January to replace the rear brake pads & another £426 last month to get it though the mot - which included 2 new tyres & a full engine lubrication to meet the exhaust emission requirements.

I suppose for an old car I shouldn't really complain as it has never let me down.

It also does regular runs from Gloucester down to Dartmouth & back without missing a beat.

It's even got a cassette player which means I can listen to my old tapes instead of buying more bloody cd's!. Mine has got a factory fitted M-Sport body kit & 5 spoke alloys, although it lacks a sun-roof which means that the all lack interior does sometimes feel a little bit drab.

Thinking that maybe now is the time to sell it however not sure what I should move up to now as swmbo has got a Jaguar X-Type so my next car has to be better than that!!

Suggestions please as I am bored to death trawling through the classifieds.
