To be fair, the tape player has swallowed my Pet Shop Boys tape and I can't get it out.
Is the magnetic tape still inside the cassette?

If so, I hope you REALLY like the Pet Shop Boys

Got this on the weekend -26k miles (Honda d series engine) 2 owners and a wedge of stamps in the service book. Low on MOT but no real structural rust despite the body work looking ropey- needs some paint. Brakes could do with a refresh and the interior needs a deep clean. But for £500 will make an excellent inner city commute car and keep some miles/car park dings off the XFR
Do the decent thing, and drop the 220T lump in there, then keep the rest absolutely stock!

Not sure I follow. Audio cassette won't eject and it won't play either. It does have a dash mounted 6 CD changer though, but I haven't tried this yet.

This is my snotter.. Bought off a mate for £50 with a duff alternator and HUGE condensation problem and now self-serviced and will be run on breaker parts until it dies- considering that some people actually aspire to own a Golf GTI I can testify that it's certainly not all glamour biglaugh

Actually specced right up, 'leccy sunroof, windows, mirrors et al- vastly improved with a stereo that cost double the price of the car and resplendent with 'my other car is a TVR' sticker- proper beater mile-muncher thumbup

Bought this from a friends sister. She lived in London and got the tube everywhere so it'd only done 59k since new...in 20 years. It had been serviced every year by Toyota irrespective of mileage. It cost 300 quid plus an extra £30 as she's just had a new Sony head unit put in it. This was the best part ex price she'd been offered.

It's a great little thing. I fitted some cheap Event ML698 All Terrain tyres (which have been excellent)and use it as a shooting wagon/dog/tip car. It goes anywhere you want it to, and leaves a lot of 'more capable' 4x4s floundering on their road tyres.

That is absolutely superb. I would love something like this (not necessarily same model!)... where might I find one?

I was just really lucky. I'd been looking for a 4x4 run around for a while, and had been scouring ebay etc, but everything I looked at was a high mileage potential money pit. Then a friend mentioned this one in the pub and I snapped his arm off.

I will say that I had never considered a Rav4, I was the first to label them as a hair dressers soft roader, but having owned it for a year, it's great. It's got no low ratio box, so would struggle in extreme terrain, but it has a diff lock, and I haven't managed to get it stuck yet in plenty of slop.

Have given the drains a good going over but sadly not rid of the problem just yet! Still, for £50 it could leak vegemite and I don't think I'd mind smile

Nice. I just treated my old shed to some spot lamps (not wired in yet) and some Land Rover rear mud flaps which I just slapped a Toyota sticker on laugh

I have a nudge bar thing to try and stick on it at some point, too.

Mind you, she's started making a noise from what sounds like the front half-shaft (or whatever it's called).

With that in mind, I did a Buy It Now on a really clean looking 4x4, four door Honda HR-V (had a two door, 2WD one before) only to find out it had sold. Pah!

May have to fix the Rav now biggrin

Ah ok. It was just that if you were still able to play it but couldn't remove it, it'd help if you REALLY like the Pet Shop Boys!

Behind the door cards there is a metal plate that the window mechanism and locks attach to. Try putting some silicon sealant around the edge of the plate as the internal seal has probably failed.

That would be preferable! As I no longer have CDs, but have some tapes I picked up for my E39 that is for sale!

Very Happy with my snotter. S Reg 1.5I Civic.

Its in for MOT.

Tester very impressed with the solidarity as he expected rust due to age, he cant find any.

Unfortunately he failed it on a track rod end.

£19 quid lighter but car has a full ticket.

I was given this. It hadn't been used in nearly two years but IIRC £130 later it was repaired, serviced and MOTd. It's pretty horrible to drive being a Vauxhall but in terms of mechanical and cosmetic condition it's now pretty good (except it needs a lambda sensor).

I bought this A4 Avant last year for £800. 1.8 turbo petrol engine, quattro, cream leather etc. It was absolutely filthy inside when I got it, spent 3 days cleaning it all up when I first got it. Since then I haven't cleaned it once as I realised I couldn't be bothered. It's actually quite a nice, presentable car for what I paid for it.
154,000 miles now, drives like new, few warning lights on but they are all to do with an ABS sensor that I haven't got round to changing yet.
Got a towbar to fit, I only bought it to replace my previous snotter which was a Seat Toledo. I needed something 4WD as the Seat was struggling to pull my boat out of the water and I didn't want a proper 4x4.

Ah yes, I am a lucky chap to be given it. Slightly interesting story actually. My old man runs a bodyshop. A young madam booked this car in through her insurance for repair nearly two years ago (at fault accident N/S/F bodywork and suspension). The car was promptly repaired and madam was invited to pick it up. Upon her arrival the dialogue went something like this;

"Good afternoon madam, that's all done for you- feel free to inspect our work and then there is just your excess payable of £600..."
"Six 'undred paand? faaak it I ain't payin' that I fort insurance woz payin'"
"Your insurance company referred this job as an at fault claim, in the event of an at fault claim your policy excess is payable to us as we explained when you dropped the car off. Did you read the handover information pack?"
"Faaak faaak ain't paying blah blah blah"

Long story short after she'd spoken to her insurance company and confirmed that her excess was indeed £600 and would be payable in this instance, she came back in and simply threw the key back at the receptionist and told her we could keep the car! About a week later a rather embarrassed stepdad came in, handed over the V5C and apologised for Madam's performance and that was that.

At that time the value of the car would've covered the cost of the repair so the company would simply have to sell the car on. We HPI'd it and it came back fine. However it did have some other non-accident related issues and when the car was run around the road for a fresh MOT it produced a not insignificant failure list. Given the calibre of madam we were also a bit apprehensive about what might come through the post when we informed the DVLA of the change of ownership. A member of staff expressed an interest but ultimately the car languished at the bottom of the yard until December when the tyres on my previous snotter Saxo were worn out and I made a cheeky bid of £500 for the Corsa (which, for it's faults, had plenty of tread on its tyres and would have a value once sorted). Much to my surprise, my Dad and his business partner simply wanted rid and agreed that I could have the car in exchange for a bottle of good red wine.

I try to pay it forward so when I'm done with this car I will get a fresh MOT on it and sell it to a friend or member of family for buttons, as I did with my Saxo. I think my Mum might want it actually so in that case I might just swap it for her old Corsa C.
