This is to replace my Mother's irksome and battered VW Sharan that she's been pottering around in for the past couple of years. It's too big for her, (but she has dogs so needs something with a reasonably sized boot space), and the electrics have a mind of their own so needed something a bit smaller and simpler.
It's very clean, has new tyres and brakes all round, a shiny new exhaust and a fairly decent service history but has a running issue causing lack of power at higher rev's and a lumpy idle when cold. Other than that, it drives surprisingly well! I'm rather impressed with it for £400. It has a bit of MOT and everything else on it works!
According to the diag' codes, (P1895), and Google, it could take anything from cleaning the throttle body to a new gearbox to cure the running issue so I'm hoping for an easy and cheap fix. I have a MAF on order for it to try it out first.
Worst case; I can easily sell the wheels and tyres to recoup most of my outlay.

Still seems to struggle with what I think is fuel starvation a little bit under load so I'll try a new fuel filter in it and see where that gets me.
