I sold it to the police after they tracked me down and asked if they could borrow it to use it in a murder enquiry - given how much they were willing to spend on hire cars for me it made more sense for them to just buy it.
You can't just drop that out there and not tell us more!BonzoG said:

Bought for £500 with a years mot, abused for a year and slapped another mot on it. All I've spent money on Is Tyres, Brakes, a backbox and a brake cylinder.

Good photo, that It's known as 'The Nanny'
I can't decide which I like better - the classic I-don't-give-a-st sort of thing like that where you rag it all the time, don't really wash it and strap things to it as you see convenient, which has a massive appeal..
..Or getting something that cost you almost nothing looking like it's worth far more, like tapeworm and Zwölf have done - the latter somewhere between excellently and compulsively - because there's got to be a lot of satisfaction in that.
You've inspired me to do my wheelarch linings, anyway

Fantastic. I had one of these as my first car, bought from my mum. I loved it and I was so far above my mate with a Fiesta with 5 gears and ability to use unleaded fuel!Sadly it was the most unreliable car I've ever owned and seemed to need a head gasket every 3 months. I knew so little back then.... :s

45k miles, 170bhp, great handling, working aircon, decent seats, great brakes and recent cambelt all for £600!

Despite my hated of French cars, that cannot be sniffed at for £600. Awesome VFM. Cam belt on my Dad's 1.4 was one of the easiest I've ever changed. Surprisingly.
Slightly cheating as I originally bought it for £1400 in Dec 09 with 36k miles, it had an ecu fault that I thought was gonna cost hundreds to fix so I wanted rid and sold it my mate for £500. He spent a few hundred fixing it, new brakes, tyres and MOT & taxing it. Used it for a couple of thousand miles then needed an estate for work so sold it me back for £600.So still cheap but not overall I guess! Either way if anyone fancies it for £600.... http://www.cxoc.net/index.php?topic=15189.0
