An Impreza did a 113mph average at the TT what to do better?

This is the thing, Trsitan Palmer who has won 2 of the Superstock Races this year has standard Honda Brakes and Pads as well as road legal tyres, likewise the Superstock TT Racers.
My old M3 and now M5 and all my previous so called quick cars just get brake fade after hard road use, the thing what bugs me with cars is upgrade this upgrade that, you can buy a Honda Fireblade and know its going to be quick and safe i.e. rely on those brakes and tyres.
As for the guy who mentioned the R1 being slow around Croft i'd imagine he was a pretty pants rider as per that rigged R1 test done by Top Gear yonks ago.
I know i'm quicker on my Ducati than I am in my car. Around the TT or in fact Miton Keynes I just can't see any car taking it to a well riden litre bike in this day and age.

That's because a Fireblade is a race bred machine, and the M3 and M5 are designed for fat businessmen. Ronnie from Performance Bikes (RIP) on the R1, and Richard Meaden (Evo journalist) in the R500, so no, not exactly a biased pairing 
They both lapped all day and were timed, so it wasn't a staged race where someone cocked up. The R1 was a second or two slower. Ronnie did say that the latest Ducati would have been closer, but I doubt it would have closed the gap.996 sps said:

I'm afraid I can't watch the videos at work, so I can't comment on those. In fairness, you're probably just quicker on bikes than in cars. Not everyone makes the switch successfully like Surtees did. Ferrari 458 vs 1198 the real deal by a car biased mag.

I can't link to it, but do a You Tube search for Plato vs Hodgson around Thruxton with a 996 C4 vs an R1. There's also an interview with them both about the race, and they're both really level headed about it. Bear in mind Plato is a biker too.

To settle the internet forum debate, Higgins himself doubted if it would be possible to lap the course in a car faster than the most powerful motorbikes, which manage average speeds of 131mph.
"I suppose you could look at Le Mans prototypes, but it's the bumps. I don't think it's feasible that a car could lap at 130mph. You'd need to be doing 200mph in places, which is what the bikes are doing."

I think whatever he does couldnt alter it drastically unless he was nursing it round.
Also as his brakes were shot by the last 1/3rd maybe he is going slower here and middle with the aim for a much higher end so overall faster.
