I've often wonder when looking for cars if a fix is really "spray with a bit of WD40", why doesn't the seller just do that?
Indeed, I've seen this quite a lot. 'just needs whatever 2 minute job doing and if I get time I'll do it'. Translation - the problem is much bigger than I'm saying.

This is absolutely fantastic, proper shedding! Ford are often overlooked as manufacturers of great barges and sadly it's a market they seem to have moved away from. I can't imagine how cool this must have looked with it was brand new. It looks fresh and imposing even today!

Real shed, drive it till it dies then bin it!

Used to have the 24v Cosworth version, which was my first Q-car, used to upset hot hatches (once it had got rolling), if you can find one they sometimes appear for shed money too.

A proper shed, but what's with the 14" alloys and the bodykit? Didn't they come with 15s? And (geek alert) isn't the grille from the Turbo Diesel.I'd take the body kit off and see what lurks beneath. The car is disgusting and I want it. Now.

yeah ok, now you're talking rubbish again. rolleyes

BTW - we had one of these. It was ok, nothing more, nothing less. But it certainly felt more like a utensil than a car you'd be passionate about.

Considering some of the st boxes you link to in threads that is rather ironic. (or moronic).

Horrid cars. My father had a 2.8 Ghia and it had rubber steeering, a coarse engine, 16mpg and it was just awful. The interior space was huge but to be honest the Princess 2 did a far better job.

I remember sitting in the back of my uncle's Grandad when i was about 15 yrs old. It had the most rear leg room of any car i'ld ever been in!
Might be worth a punt if you can get it for a few quid, but otherwise no!

Care to expand on that a little?

Or do you truly believe a ratty old Granada (which is neither fast nor good on fuel) is a good barge and imposing looking? hehe

Being honest, I have a hard time taking anything you day seriously because I think you just say some things for a laugh. And the cars you suggest are usually terrible too, picked only because they'll start an argument and focus the attention on you as everyone talks about how stupid you are.

That said, I do love 1980's Fords. Usually Cosworths but I wouldn't turn my nose up at this, could be a decent restoration project.

Each to their own and all. I didn't hate our 2.9, the motor makes a nice noise. But it didn't handle great, didn't ride that well, wasn't that nice inside and really wasn't very speedy or smooth either.

An Omega is a far better car and newer for the same money. Or if you want a Ford V6 then an XR4/XR4x4 drives way better.

Yes, the Omega is a much better car. I considered buying one before I bought my S60 but I ended up giving up on that idea as most of the ones for sale had minicab miles and were looking tired. I accepted I had probably just thought of that car too late. 5 year ago they would have made an awesome barge choice. I love fast, comfortable saloons.

Quite, look at me, look at me everyone. You only have to look at his profile to gather that.
