I'd imagine the passenger had put his faith in the expert and just froze and clammed up when it all started going a bit pete wong (think I might have braced with a few expletives ). Even the driver was a little quiet directly after the 'save' probably thanking his lucky stars!
Great skill
If you look really closely you can see his eyes open wider at the start if the incident lolGreat skill

Personally, I would be thinking along the following lines. Do not do any thing to distract the driving god. So would be trying very hard not to move or make a sound unless directly asked to. Great skill
Do you think - if the Internet had existed during Apollo 13's mission - that the same keyboard heroes who are trying to explain something WAY in excess of their actual, real-world abilities here, would have posted something like this...
"It's easy enough, you just power down the CM, move the crew to the LEM, fashion some CO2 scrubbers from bits of hose/tape, ride her around the Moon taking a few pics for the album, fly home, power-up the CM, plop into the ocean and light-up a Marlboro..."
or would they just have suggested a tad of oppo?

jesus h christ that man deserves a medal for holding that, bet a few stiff drinks were required when he finally got back to the pits, as for the manaquin in the passenger seat he didnt even blink................mind you have you seen how most americans drive, he probably felt mega safe. I would have been a slavering wreck after that wee slide and would be " politely asking for him to stop so i could get out"

What did he do then?"It's easy enough, you just power down the CM, move the crew to the LEM, fashion some CO2 scrubbers from bits of hose/tape, ride her around the Moon taking a few pics for the album, fly home, power-up the CM, plop into the ocean and light-up a Marlboro..."

I think this is Trevor Nation, but this is one tank slapper that wasn't saved.

Something vaguely similar in a 4WD Subaru on an icy corner many years ago, 'dab of oppo' and all that. Passenger said afterwards I was pointing up someone's driveway so was seriously sideways; I was too busy thinking, "If I don't catch the overcorrect I'm wrapping everyone around that parked car." Did save it though, big thanks to Lincs police for the skidpan course the previous summer.
Sadly the heroic similarities end there, it was a Justy at 20mph and that was scary enough - heaven knows how he held it a ton faster.
