1980's Saab 900 - great seats, not much in the way of lateral support but the car isn't that kind of thing either.

L322 Range Rover - most comfortable modern seat.

I also recall my father had a Renault Fuego which was incredibly comfortable seat-wise.

Not my car as I don't have a pic to hand but Google is my friend.

Just over 4k miles in mine since Feb and these have to be God's gift to seating. To look at and when you first shoehorn in my 34"-36" waist you think hmm. After a couple of minutes you start to fall in love and the first time you start to make progress you really notice.

They are just fantastic, be it for a 5 minute trip or for 4-5 hours at a stretch only stopping for long enough to full up.

The only downside at all is that you do have to climb in and out of them but that is no hardship and only adds to the sense of occasion, even if it is my DD!

Cadillac Seville STS. They adapt to you.
What do you mean by adapt to you? Do they automatically adjust or something?
yes

Front bucket seats are standard and can be equipped with Cadillac’s adaptive seating system. Ten air cells in the upholstery change pressure every 4 minutes or so to adapt the seat to its occupant and the way the passenger is sitting.

frankly perfect driving position.

I love Volvo seats.

So comfortable and of course recommended by osteopaths - (and physiotherapists)

I once drove a Saab 9000 for 20hrs solid (only stopping to fuel and to grab a hotdog/cup of coffee) on Norwegian backroads and neither I, nor my passenger, had an ache. Amazing.

My Audi S2 with genuine Recaros (leather of course) was fantastic.

My V70 is like wafting along in a comfortable armchair.

From my experience either Impreza WRX type seats or the seats out of my old Pg 406 Diesel, heated leather with armrests.

Porsche GT3 style buckets or Elise buckets.
Most other seats are just fine (Volvo, Toyota, VW - nearly the same layout)

Of all the cars I sat in at a recent motor show, the new Lexus (the one with Kylie's backside currently in place for the advertising campaign) was by far the most comfy. Driving it for any length of time may prove different of course.
